Over 5 years post-op now

May 14, 2011

What a busy life I live with my 2 girls and working full-time...but I love it!  Kadence is now 3 yrs old and Savannah is 15 months old.  She is walking and into everything!!!!  I am so blessed to have 2 beautiful daughters.  As far as weight loss goes, well...I really need to do some walking again!  I only gained 15 lbs. with Savannah and lost it all but now I have managed to gain 8 lbs. since the beginning of January. So basically I've managed to gain 20 lbs. in all between having my babies and a few lbs. here and there.  Now I can't lose anything no matter how hard I try.  Unfortunately, I went back to drinking carbonated drinks and I just can't seem to kick the habit. Therefore, I'm sure I've probably stretched my pouch back out.  Even though I still do not eat like I did pre-op, I can definitely eat more than I did.  I'm hoping to lose weight this summer while I'm home with my girls.

Life with Baby

Jul 16, 2008

Wow, how the time has flown!  My little girl is now 5 months old and oh what a joy!  She is such a sweet baby.  She was born on February 15, 2008 at 2:43 am.  We tried to get her here on Valentine's day but she was a little late!  Somehow I always knew I would end up having her in the middle of the night because the whole time I was pregnant, I would wake up between 2 & 5 in the morning!

We named her Kadence Alana, she weighed 6lbs.1oz.  and is completely healthy!  I had a relatively easy labor and delivery.  What a blessing!!!  I try to make sure that I never take one minute with her for granted.  As far as weight gain goes, I gained a total of 23 lbs.  13 lbs. came off with no problem after she was born but I'm having a time getting rid of those extra 10 lbs!  It's really aggravating me because I thought I would get them off quickly.  Otherwise, no complaints!

Pregnancy Update

I am now 27 weeks pregnant and things are going great.  It's a girl!  I just had my first baby shower on Saturday....what an incredible feeling to go to a baby shower where I didn't have to carry a gift!  Our little girl's due date is on Valentine's day.  I have only gained 10 lbs. so far which I am thankful for.  I know without having this surgery, I would have never been able to have a baby!

I am now 2 years post-op.  I ended up losing a total of 125 lbs.  I haven't lost anything since November and I have been able to maintain the same weight.  The good news is that I am now pregnant!  My husband and I have tried for over 12 years and I just assumed we could not have kids.  Then, all of a sudden, I'm pregnant!  I am currently 10 weeks so I still have a ways to go but all seems to be going well so far.  I am so thankful for this surgery!
