Hi Susan...I just got done reading your profile! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for you have helped me so much by reading your story. I to have people wondering why I am having this done. I am very tall and I weight 270lbs. Which don't look so bad to some...but believe me my health has been paying for it. I should weigh about 150. I have so many pains that all I can do some days is work and come home take some pain pills and go to bed. Not much of a life. I hear there is others ways...but like you I have tryed them all. I feel blessed to have found a great Dr and be able to have this done. Take care and God bless you for your help Mary Ann

Hi Susan! I really enjoyed reading the info on your surgery page! It is really important for everyone to hear what's going on for a 'long termer'...I had a VBG in 1991, and just about 3 years ago started gaining weight...so now I'm going to have a Gastric Bypass revision on Feb. 25th. I sometimes get that 'look' from people because they consider me a 'lightweight'. And I DO know that their are some out there who would love to 'get down to' my weight. I was pushing 300 lbs in 1991, and now I'm about 230...should I wait until I regain ALL the weight? I don't think so!! I look forward to trying again, with a better surgery, a more mature attitude, and the wonders of the internet to keep me informed and in touch! God bless and best wishes to you!

Dear Susan....Enjoyed your whole page....you have a wonderful attitude. Congratulations for all the wonderful decisions you have made in your life to better yourself. Don't let anyone steal your dream....Anyone who can lose weight and keep it off gets an A+ in my book. It is not something that I have been able to do. My surgery is scheduled for June 3rd. Any input you have will be appreciated. Glad you got after those negative people. I am 63 and 370+ (the plus stands for what I may have gained since last weighted). Some people wonder why I would do this at my age. The answer to have some sort of healthy old age. May God Bless you with continued success and wonderful health. It sounds like HE is already on your side. Waiting to hear from you. Marilyn
