Six months post surgery
Nov 28, 2009
Well its hard to believe it has been six months already since the surgery. Things have gone well as far as I'm concerned. I am down to 275 lbs and a size 42 waist and a large shirt with no X's. That is a total of down 145 lbs and many sizes of clothes. I still occasionally find a food that doesn't set good in the system. Two weeks ago i made a great venison stew that i slow cooked all day and was as tender as could be but two bites and i was in pain. I ended up giving it all to coworkers because i just couldn't eat it. Thanksgiving went very well even though i know i ate more than i should have but i had no dumping issues. My wife is scheduled for surgery the end of February or beginning of march. She just started the medifast plus one lean and green meal last week. So now i need to set a good example for her and give her allot of support. All in all it should be easier for the both of us working together on this. I go this week for my 6 month check up from my doctor and my first blood test for any deficiencies. Hoping everything is good and really expect it will be. Till next time merry Christmas and happy Holidays to all.

Seven Weeks After
Jul 18, 2009
Had my second check up this past Wednesday since surgery. Down 30 pounds from surgery and a total of 80 pounds since Feb. Doctors are very happy as am i. Go back on Aug. 31 and will definitely be in the 200's by then. That will make me very happy to be in the 200's since it has been way over ten years since i have been there. My eating is getting allot easier and my local support group helps with questions about what to expect. Many people over five years post surgery in group. Talk again soon i promise.

Third Week Post-Op
Jun 21, 2009
This was my third week post -op and i weighed my self today and only lost 2 pounds in 7 days. I am a little disappointed that my weight loss dropped to only 2 pounds in a week. Maybe some of the new foods i am starting to eat in small amounts are not such a good idea. And i only exercised one day with a 3 mile walk. This week i intend to walk at least 4 days and eat only what dietitian said i should be eating. Plus i know that i am not drinking enough water during each day. I haven't been able to get into the routine of when to drink and eat so that i drink enough water. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

First Week At Work
Jun 14, 2009
This was my first week back to work after surgery on 05/27/09. It was a supper week contest at work. I work for Schwans Home Delivery doing home delivery of high quality frozen food. I ended up with top sales amount for the week and i was very happy about that. A little sore the first few days but got better at end of the week. The hard part is the when to eat and when to drink and not when on the road for 14 hours at a time. I was very happy to be able to get through the whole week and not have to rest during the day. Doctor told me i wouldn't be able to go all day with out a nap. I guess he was wrong. But i sleep like a baby at night now because of using up all available energy during the day.
