I began my journey after watching a friend go through her journey.  I have an artificial hip and am told now tha tthe other hip is going to need replacing before too long and that the best thing I could do was lose weight.  yeah...well after multiple attempts over the years (Atkins, Slim Fast, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, Cabbage Soup diet etc) hearing the doctor say that like it is so easy made me so angry.  For the first time I was angry over my weight rather than just sad!  My reflux was at an all time BAD, my sleep apnea was driving my husband insane and I was now glucose intolerant.  My PCP suggested bariatric surgery and that was when I began seriously considering the surgery!  Friends and family were very supportive (most friends...a few were not).  I am now 1 month post op and have lost 36 pounds and am already feeling better.
