My story begins long ago. I've been overweight the majority of my life...and it has had obvious impacts on, well, everything. Co-morbities started rearing their ugly heads and my weight situation had not improved...in fact, it was getting worse! All the stress I was putting on myself to lose weight was actually having the opposite result! My weight continued to creep up! I was miserable...
Now, however, the time has come for me to take control and take a positive step to my new forever! After many months of research, I made my mind up to have the RNY surgery, which happened for me on November 15, 2006 at Kaiser South San Francisco! I feel eternally grateful to my doctor, the surgical and support team, my family, friends and members of OH for the neverending support, information and encouragement. Without all the ducks in a row, so to speak, I am doubtful that this experience would have been so positive.
So now, my journey to my new-found well-being has begun! And I am excited! Next Wednesday is my 6-week follow up appointment with Kaiser...I can't wait to see my "official" weight loss results!
I know I have missed out on so many opportunities...but it's not too late! With your support, my goal is to stay committed to my own well-being and health and lose this weight! I can finally feel the "thin person waiting to come out"...and I can't wait to meet her! hehe
