Okay, where do I begin?  I've always been the "chubby" kid/teen/adult.  I gained 40# with pregnancy and just kept adding on.  Now 10 years and many diets later, I am at 235# and wishing I could be back at even my pregnancy weight!!!!
This summer I went to my FP doc for a check-up and low and behold my blood sugar is elevated, and I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea!  That is when I decided I needed to do something different.  Obviously dieting wasn't working....  I talked with my doc about Lap-Band and found out my insurance would cover it!!!!  My doctor submitted my referral for entrance into the bariatric program and at first I was denied.   I appealed the denial and because of my sleep apnea I got an approval.
I have now completed all of the required pre-op testing and I am just waiting for a surgery date. (maybe May?)  It sounds so far away, but I am just happy to be on the right path.  One of my best friends (and co-worker) is making this journey with me.  She still has not decided which surgery is best for her, but I am glad I have a buddy to go to pre-op classes with and for support.

HERE WE GO!!!
