"My first appointment with Dr Marshall is tomorrow. I did met him when I attended the support group that his office runs at the hospital where the surgery will be done. He was very imformative and gave a history of the surgery. My first impressions are that I like and trust him. My appointment is tomorrow so I will update this information when I get back on to the site. 2/9 Yesterday I had my consultation with the surgeon. I liked him right away. The staff in the office were great. He was in a rush when he saw me but there was an emergency in the office so I can certainly understand that. My advice is be prepared to wait. I had to wait while the DR went out to lunch before I saw him. Luckily I saw him leave so I went to a nearby place for lunch too. 2/12 I found out today that my DR no longer has privileges at the hostipal to do the surgery. That means my search is on for another DR. Luckily I am resourceful. 2/28 I found DR Butler who is not to far away. His office is only 30 minutes away. My first appointment went really well till they told me he does the operation in St Petersburg which is about 2 hours away. The other bad thing is he isnt in my insurance's network. That means about $2000 out of pocket for him and about $3000 for the hosptial. I am still going to do it. Now we are waiting for the insurance company. 4/19 It has been over 6 six weeks now. No news from that isurance company. My friend has told me about another Dr in my city and today I will be going to check him out. I had my first appointment today. His name is DR Steinbaum. He did everything he could to talk me out of the surgery. When he found out how committed I was he changed his approach with me. He is going to do it if I pass all of the test. He is very thorough and very direct. I go for all of my labs and to see the dietician tomorrow. The psych appointment is Monday. Wish me luck. 7/23 I not only had my appointment on 4/19 but also had my surgery on 7/17. I cannot say enough about how much I love this Doctor. He is a great surgeon who truly cares about his patiences. I am so glad everything happened like it did because it is like God directed me to him. 10/15/02 DR Steinbaum will be doing my TT in November. I wouldn't trust my body to any other surgeon. 11/16/02 DR Steinbaum has completed my TT and hernia repair and I feel great. I have lots of swelling but that is to be expected. He is a wonderful DR and I would never have been comfortable enough for another DR to cut me open. I thank God for him ever day. "
