Did not realize yesterday was 6 months since my surgery.  It has been 6 months now and I feel great.  Have lost 77 lbs and wearing misses size 14 pant and L shirt (down from 22/24 and 3x shirts).  Very strange not going to the plus size section of the stores.  Actually do not know where to go now in the stores to find my clothes.  Wearing clothes that are tight fitting is very strange also.  I have always gone by the bigger the better, especially in tops.  When I wear clothes that actually fit everyone really sees how much I have lost.  My next checkup with the surgeon is in August so hope to be at the 100 lb lost mark by then. 

Sometimes I feel I am eating too much at each meal but try to limit it to 1/2 cup to 1 cup total of protein, veggies and fruit.  I will also fix my plate and then split it in half, eat 1/2 and put the rest away for the next meal.  My weight loss has slowed but if I drink a protein shake each day, get my exercise in and drink all my water I will start losing again.   Trying to be consistant with that but some days it is hard to do.  Having hair loss and hope it stops soon.  Looks like some new hair is growing in but not in the right spots!!  My head got sunburned this past weekend, need to remember to wear a hat! 

I am so happy to have had this surgery and I would support anyone that takes this journey!  It is well worth it!

Today it has been 16 weeks since my surgery and I am so happy!!  60 lbs lost to date and have gone from size 22/24 pants to 16!  YEAH    First time I tried on the 16W 2 weeks ago I had to take them off and re-check the tag inside to be sure it really said 16.  Yesterday I went for my annual GYN check up and got on that Dr's scale and when the big weight stayed at the 150 mark and the little one came just under the 50 mark I was elated! It has been over 15 years since that has happened and it felt wonderful!

yeah!!  Just got the letter from Aetna that I have been approved for the RNY.  Looks like surgery will be scheduled in Nov, I am so excited!!

I have finished the 6 month supervised weight loss program with my PCP and have completed all my preliminary testing.  All my documents have been sent to Dr. Jawad's office and they have comfirmed they have them.  I have been trying to find out if the predetermination dept has submitted my paperwork to Aetna yet, have not been able to get an answer from them so I am just waiting.......................

I went to Dr. Jawad's information seminar in Kissimmee in April and was very impressed with his explanation of the procedures and information.  I made my appointment for my consultation May 27th and decided on the RNY.

I am in the process of finishing my 6 months of supervised diet/excercise with my PCP to meet the requirements of my insurance (Aetna POS) and then I just need to complete my nutritional evaluation and phys eval.  My other testing is done, so I hope to have all paperwork into the office for submission to Aetna for approval by middle of July.
