"UPDATE: Dr. James Weber retired in June of 2008 to become - wait for it - a YOGA INSTRUCTOR! He loves to hear from his former patients and is very good at returning emails. His email is [email protected]_________________________rnDr. Weber was my surgeon for both the VBG in 2000 and the revision to bypass in 2007. He is my angel and I can't imagine anyone else caring for me as lovingly, compassionately, and intelligently. Dr. Weber considers performing weight loss surgery his 'ministry', a totally accurate description of his work. I am so thankful I found this wonderful doctor and I highly recommend him to anyone considering weight loss surgery. Note: Dr. Weber is very conservative and he insists his patients follow his directions very carefully (pre-op and post op) in order to achieve the best results. Dr. Weber holds degrees from Yale and Columbia Medical School. He has more than 20 years of experience and as of Dec. 07 had performed nearly 3,000 WLS's."
"I was so happy. I got a private room, my mother stayed with me the entire time and she was given the same respect and care I was. Everything I asked for was considered and the nurses were wonderful. Parking is easy, they have really NICE and HUGE shower/bath room for taking showers with PIC lines (you have your own private bathroom in your room as well), and it was just very comfortable. They have a very nice, reasonably priced cafeteria as well, which was nice for my friends and family who came to visit. "
"My overall opinion is good, however, I did have an unusual experience during and after my stay that I will share. In a nutshell, the male nurse's aid who assisted me with personal care during my stay got my phone number from my medical chart and started calling me at home and asking me to go out on a date with him. I refused and after four or five attempts to contact me, the calls stopped - thank goodness. I never reported it. This took place in 2000. Last year, in 2006, The Seattle Times printed an article about a nurse's aid who was arrested for RAPING a mentally and physically disabled woman in a nursing home. It was the SAME nurse's aid who cared for me during my stay at Swedish -Ballard! I was lucky - he never physically assaulted me in any way but just knowing that he cleaned my private areas and saw me naked while I was in a very vulnerable position makes me sick to this day. This may be surprising, but I still recommend Swedish Hospital. This could have happened anywhere."
