Sigh...starting over
Aug 27, 2007
Well, it looks like I'm going to be starting my process all over again. My doctor told me he couldn't resumit those two claims because he did not put the obesity diagnosis on any of the pages of the visits when I was sick as well as seeing him about the surgery. Six months from now, could be worse.
insurance update
Aug 21, 2007
I just got off the phone with my insurance company. This is only the second person there who has actually been helpful. I looked at the submitted claims and discovered that I seen my doctor four times during that period and had proof. I called the customer service number and told them. She looked it up and found the problem. When my doctor submitted two of the four, I had other issues also and he submitted the claims for those issues so the insurance would pay for them instead of me having to pay it all out of pocket. She said that he could resubmit those two visits including the obesity diagnosis and that would satisfy that requirement. Funny how no one has been able to give me that simple little bit of information before, huh?
insurance...still waiting
Aug 21, 2007
Well, I'm still waiting to get another denial. The insurance company keeps telling me they haven't received my information and the surgeon's office keeps telling me they've sent it
. I hope something good happens soon, I'm feeling depressed about it. None of this stuff is in my town, which I think adds to the frustration. I'm in Kansas City, MO; the insurance is in Alabama and the surgeon is halfway across the state in Columbia. I won't give up but it's hard
. Thanks for reading my vent.

insurance...grrrr

I'm in the middle of my appeal for my insurance. I recieved a letter from them stating that I did not do my 6 month diet (I did), I did not see my doctor at least 3 times during that 6 months (I did), and there's not an accurate account of my weight for the past three years. The last part is the only one which is mostly true because I weighed more than the doctor's scale could accuately measure. I have a letter from my doctor stating all this, I really hope it helps.
