Holy Moly!! It has been a long time since I wrote anything here. I am still doing wonderful! My weight is between 170-172. I allow myself up to 5 pounds lee-way, but I start freaking out when I go to 172. I eat almost anything. I still can not have too much sugar, which is great. If I didn't have that dumping, I know I would struggle with my weight.
I am much more social than I was with all the weight on. It doesn't bother me to go into a room where I do not know anyone. My hubby and kids are fine.
I feel very blessed I was able to have this life changing surgery.

Hello Everyone. Another month has gone by. I lost another 3 pounds within the last week. So the total is 113 pounds down. That is the way it happens. I will stay the same for weeks and weeks, and then bam...the scale will go down 2-3 pounds. I did want to lose 5 more pounds for a cushion, but now my pants are so loose!! I have baggy ass jean syndrome!! I will give it another pound or so, and then call my nutritionist and see what to add to my daily routine. I still do not eat sweets. I am very proud of my weight loss.

WOW!! It has been almost a year since WLS. I reached my goal of losing 110 pounds. I feel great. I am in a size 12. I bought a size 9/10 jean skirt that I love. I have been during some serious shopping lately. I needed all new pants and winter tops. The tops are mostly L but still some XL. Hey, I will take it. Much better than 3 x's. This journey has been amazing. I feel soooo much better about myself now.

Well, Well, Well!! Can you believe it is almost 11 months since life changing WLS??? I have now lost 107 lbs. YIPEE!!! I thought I was done with 104 for the longest time. Yesterday the scale moved one pound down, and then this morning it was 2 lbs down. I'll take it!! Just 3 more pounds to my goal. Will I make it?? I think so. I added new pictures, and finally posted a new avatar to my postings. When my son Matt saw the old picture of me before WLS, he thought my husband doctored the photo. He said there is no way you were that heavy. But.....I was!!
I go back to my surgeon next month for the one year check-up. Last time I went, he was so happy with the way I look. I have no extra skin at all.
If anyone is reading this thinking about WLS, JUST DO IT!!!!!

It has been 2 months since my last post. I lost another 10 pounds. I am down 103 pounds!! I finally hit the century club. I just have 7 lbs to go to reach my goal. I would like to lose another 5 or so after that, just for a cushion. I am actually eating more than I did before, and it seems to be working for my weight loss. I eat 3 meals, and 2-3 snacks. Mostly all protein. I keep track of what I eat(most days) and I usually eat around 1000 calories a day. I am going back to Dr R in July, and I will see my Nut. I will ask her what to do to maintain the weight. If anyone is reading this post, and wondering whether to have the surgery...JUST DO IT. This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I feel like a million dollars!!
See ya next month!!!!

Another month has gone by. My weight loss has slowed way down. I am down 93 pounds. I am in a size 14 pants, which I love!! It is so nice to go into the dressing room, and putting on clothes, and they actually fit. I have 17 pounds to go to reach my goal of 110 pounds. My mother and I went to Irealnd a week ago. It was great to see Meaghan!!! She will be home in a month, and I can hardly wait. Matt and Carl are both doing fine. I am so lucky to have a great family :)
Talk to you next month!!

Wow, it has been a long time since my last post! First let me tell you about my weight loss. I am up to 90 pounds. I am super happy with it. I was on a plateau for the longest time. It was really a bitch!! But I stayed positive, and hoped it would break soon. I was in Florida for the month of March with my Mom. It was a great time, and I loved the sun. I did miss my DH and son (daughter is still in Ireland). My plateau broke at the end of March in Florida. Since then, I have lost 10 pounds in about 2.5 weeks. So...anybody on a plateau, hang in there baby, it will break!!
I can eat just about anything now. I only eat sugar free treats. I have not had anything with more than 6 or 7 grms of sugar.
I am in a size 14 pants now. It is amazing.
I will write again soon!!

Another month flew by! Where did January go? It is cold right now in Boston. But it has been pretty mild this month. Okay, the magical number is...drumroll please...69 pounds! That is 12 pounds less than last month. I am happy with that, although I would love it if it was more, but I don't want to be greedy!! I bought a new pair of jeans, size 16. Down from a 22W. I go to the gym 3-5 days a week. I feel GREAT!!!!
I can see my collar bones. I thought they were lost forever!!
My family is doing good, too. My daughter is doing a semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland. She loves it there. My Mom and I are still deciding whether we are going to visit her. My DH does not like to travel, so it is me and Bobi. My son is in a computer program at Clark University, and is loving it. I think he finally found his niche!!
I go on OH everyday, and read the posts. I don't go to support meetings, so it is important I log on everyday to OH.
I am so glad I had this surgery. I have been VERY lucky. I had only one episode of pain that I had to follow up on. No throwing up. I am grateful for this TOOL I have to HELP me with my weight. I still have to do it on a daily basis. I make the choices that matter. Remember that!!!!

Wow, A month has gone by!! I am 3 month's out now. I am doing fantastic! I have lost 57 pounds. That's right, 57 pounds! I went to Dr R. this past Tues. and also saw my Nut, Natalie. Dr. R. told me I look great. I can start stage 5 now. That's eating just about anything. Food still gets stuck every once in a while. I am eating tiny bites, and that is helpful. I have not eaten any sugar yet, and I don't plan on it. I am going to have to buy some new pants soon. I will just get one pair and wear them out! I did buy some new sweaters because I get cold now. The size is an XL. No more 3x's!!! I can hardly wait to have a drink, LOL. The Nut said at 6 months. I will try to hold off until then. Happy Holidays everyone. I know this year coming up will be a good one :)

It's been a month since I have written on my blog. Time is going by so fast. I can't believe it is 2 months since surgery! I am still doing very well, although I did have an episode where I had to go to the ER. I was having some bad pain in my stomach around the upper part of my incision. I saw Dr. R. and he thought it was muscular. I didn't feel any better, so I went to the ER a week later. They did a CT scan and it did not show anything wrong. A few days later, I started to feel better. I think it was muscular. Other than that, boy do I feel good. I have lost 42.1 pounds so far. That is just amazing to me. I have struggled for so long with my weight. I go to the gym 5 x's a week, and do the elyptical machine, and I go on the treadmill.
I have not dumped on anything (I have not "tested" eating sugar, and I don't plan on it for a long time). I have only thrown up twice, and it was very minor. Food was stuck at the top of my throat, and the food came right up. I try to eat slow, take very little bites, and chew chew chew, and I am o'kay with that.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. This year I am really thankful for my health!! My children and DH are great, and so is my extended family. I am truely blessed. I do hope my friend Jenn A. is feeling better. She had her surgery the same day as I, and she has had a terrible 2 months. Jenn, I hope things go better for you :)
