ALmost 10 months out. I have lost 129 pounds. The last 29 have been very slow. But I know it it totally because I haven't been exercising at all. . I have a goal to reach 199 by Jan 1, 2010. It can be done with a little effort.

I am really feeling the loss finally. I have loss 96.4 lbs. My husband Randy sent me a gift that I can't open until I've lost 100#. I am so close, I can't wait! We have relatives in for the holiday and they are all so complimentary on my weight loss. I went to the movies with my mother last week. I said "I think they are making these theatre seats bigger and deeper than they used to." I didn't feel crowded and stuffed in like I always did. What a good feeling!

It has been 4 months ago today that my life started happening. I've lost 82 pounds!! People notice the difference. Randy came home from Iraq for 18 days and he can really tell I've lost! I am wearing 2x and 22s. This is exciting since 4 months ago I wore 5x and 32s. I still have a very hard time being motivated to exercise. I go to PT 2x weekly for my back. I go to water aerobics 2x weekly. I am in pain when I walk longer distances, so that is out.

Time marches on. I am slowly (to me) melting away. I've lost 51 pounds since surgery. I am so excited. There have been some wow moments; I forgot I was wearing zip up jeans because I usually wear elastic waisted pants. I was in a hurry and pulled down those jeans without a thought. They hadn't even fit me two weeks before that! I am blessed.

Miracle

It has only been several days since my surgery. I feel like a walking breathing miracle. I have been overweight for so long. I hardly remember the last time I successfully lost even a few pounds. It is coming off already. I have a pair of jeans I am setting as my first goal. To fit comfortably into them. Maybe next week.

I can't believe I have had the surgery. I have been pursueing WLS for six years. Seeing others have gotten surgery, then watching their image change as they lost weight. Then most disappear from the lists or blogs because their lives have gotten so full and rich that they don't have time for this. This is perfectly fine, I understand.

I had surgery on 02/04/09 in St Augustine Flagler Hospital with Dr. Robert Marema.
I had a great experience. I feel well educated by the Dr's office and hospital staff. I am looking forward to my new future with this marvelous tool. All Praise to God!

Today Dr Overcash's office called to tell me she submitted my packet of tests and letters to insurance for a DS. I have wanted this for so long. I know I will get approved for gastric bypass, but I want a DS. I am praying!

In the past week, I have had my teeth x-rayed and cleaned, vision checked, mammogram, psych evaluation, stress test.
I am so ready for surgery. I am trying not to get too excited because it could still be awhile before I get a date.

Because my husband just got deployed to Iraq, I now have Tricare Prime Insurance. I have been lurking since Nov, 2003. Until now I had no hope of getting the surgery that I want.
I chose Dr. Wm Todd Overcash in Ocala, FL because of a reference I got from a friend of a friend. I met with him on May 28, 2008. I really like him, and the best part is that he does the BPD/DS lap surgery. So I will get the surgery I want. A true answer to prayer. I will now start jumping through the hoops for the insurance. I have already had an endoscopy done on June 5, 2008. Now I am working on the stress test and psych eval.
