Hi, All!!! I just got home from the hospital. Anna Lima did wonderful!! Already shoved her out of bed, she has walked, deep breathing, urinated. Looking good! Still some pain, but otherwise fantastic! It was a little scary when, after I had been there a little while, the surgeon came in. He sent in another of his patients who he was having go around and tell his post op patients what NOT to do. Seems she had had the surgery two weeks ago, and had to come BACK in the hospital because she had NOT BEEN using her incentive spirometer. Well, as if the threat of the RN sister/best friend wasn't enough, Anna started puffing and sucking away, getting the I.S sphere all the way up!! No rest for the wicked.....(evil grin) Well, anyway, I will keep you all further updated!

Anna - I very much enjoyed reading your profile. You and my hubby would be quite the pair... D&D (in the old days mostly - but not the "gross" kind of satanic D&D), loves computer adventure games, love of history, armor, etc... My hubby made a beautiful set of dress armor last with with gauntlets and all. He is almost done with his fighting armor. I worry about him fighting some because he has had 2 back surgeries... but hopefully he will be careful from now on. He is getting his 2nd black belt in the martial arts. Anyways, I just couldn't believe all the similarities. I had surgery (open prox RnY) 2/23. I've dropped -40 now and am at 178. The loss is slow, but this surgery has been a real blessing to me. I have a chronic disease (MS) that makes it hard for me to be very active. A lot of people ask me if I'm going to get a time-period dress done to wear out with my hubby. I've always thought I was too fat to do that and would be embarrassed, but maybe I will later. Best of luck to you in your surgery and recovery. Hi, all! this is my first posting, as I am getting ready to slap on a set of wings for my best friend in the whole wide world. Anna Lima, who I have known for over 20 years, is having her surgery on May 15th. I am a nurse, and could NOT beg my boss into letting me be off to be at her side on the way to her room. BUT, when I am off, I will be there. When I get home from the hospital, I will let you all know her status. She needs to hear as many loving wishes, moments of support, as she has that scary demon, depression lurking in the background....Thank you all! Denise
