His nurse said I should be scheduled for some time next month which will be great. I have 4 beautiful kids and I cant be as big a part of their life as I want to due to me weight and my bad health. And I want to be a better mother. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME THAT I WILL GET MOVED UP TO OCTOBER.IT WILL BE SO GREAT AND I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THE SURGERY AND NOW A LITTLE NERVOUS THAT IT IS FINALLY GONNA HAPPEN. HUGS TO ALL AND NOW I NEED AN ANGEL !! LOL :-) I HAD A GREAT TIME AND PLAN TO ATTEND MORE SESSIONS. And Dr Bentley wrote me a great letter and I am so happy!! :-) Now the only thing I have to do is wait for the surgery date. WOW It seems like such a long ways away. 63 days and WAKE UP for me!! I am single mother of four who weighs 378 lbs. I am in the process of waiting for a surgery date. I have been waiting now for 8 months for a date and I am ready. I had to change doctors because my last doctor filed the claim obesity instead of pre-op testing. And his office wouldn't change.
Any way a major set back but I am back on track with the help of a friend in finding a new doctor. I go to Dr Dewitt's office Sept 18th for my surgery date and I am excited it is finally come to this point.
I want to be able to go out and play with them and go places with them more and stop telling them mommy is sick and doesnt feel like it. It breaks my heart to see the disappointment on their faces when I cant do something with them because I am too sick or tired to do it. They deserve better and so do I . Wish me luck for a quick surgery date and thanks to all for your support!

HELLO ALL. WELL IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE MY LAST POST. I WANTED TO INFORM EVERY ONE THAT I GOT MY SURGERY DATE. DECEMBER 5TH.
I KNOW IT SEEMS LIKE A LONG TIME BUT HE ALSO SAID THAT NEXT MONTH HE WOULD BE OPENING MONDAYS FOR SURGERY AND HE HOPES TO HAVE AN OPENING FOR ME NEXT MONTH.

WENT TO MY FIRST SUPPORT GROUP MEETING TODAY ATE MEDICAL CENTER EAST AND MET SOME OF THE FAMILAR NAMES ON THE FACESOFWLS WEBSITE.
IT WAS NICE TO MEET PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST LIKE ME AND TO MEET PEOPLE AT THERE GOAL WEIGHT. PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF WLS.
I AM EXCITED NOW THAT I FINALLY HAVE MY DATE AND I AM COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS NOW. KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS AND GOD BLESS TO ALL OF YOU. HUGS, RENEE

I had my appointment with My psychologist today and it went really well. Even though I am already approved by BC/BS My surgeon still wanted a letter from the Dr saying I was mentally stable to have the surgery.

Hello everyone. I am still wishing December 5th will be here sooner than its coming but I am trying to stay busy so it will pass by quicker. I am an official Angel of two beautiful lil' cherubs and I enjoy so much giving them support it makes me so happy to do nice things for someone else and it keeps my mind off of my waiting as well. I am a member of a local support group here also, called Faces of WLS and they hold meetings twice a month and I am very active in the meetings and outings and the website postings. I am so excited about getting my surgery and can't wait to get on the other side and start living. I would like to thank all who offered there words of expertice and words of encouragement during this waiting period. Hello AMOS family This is my first post-op post I am officially a loser and I am loving it!!Well I came home at 12:30 yesterday and the surgery went well I was up and walking around in no time. It is amazing how I can eat a couple of bites of something and be full. I love it. I did hurt my back getting out of the shower though. Has anyone else here hurt there back and if so what did they do? I can already feel myself shrinking and it is a wonderful feeling. Hugs to all. Renee

OK I have some questions and was wondering if anyone here can help me with them?
Can you have OJ post op?
And about bowel movements, I haven't had one since I did my bowel prep the day before surgery and I am now 6 days post op? Should I be worried or do something?
Also, Can you drink cranberry juice?
And why exactly can you not have any sugar after the surgery?
And I may have asked this one already but why can't you drink while you eat? What if you just take a sip?
I have 4 pills I have to take on a regular basis every day I have dropped a lot of my meds thanks to the surgery but I was wondering should I take them all at one time or spread them out?
I ate a graham cracker with some peanut butter and cream cheese is it to soon for me to be eating things like that? It didn't seem to bother me.
And is it OK to eat sugar free candy and ice cream?
How soon do I have to wait to eat meat?
How soon before I can eat salad?
Can I have mixed drinks, i.e., kamikaze or daqarri's things like that?
I know that is a lot of questions but I am new to this and have a lot more questions I can't even remember. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks, And love and hugs to you all.

Hi all. I went for my first follow up visit today and in 12 days I have lost 34 lbs. I would've lost more than that if I had been able to exercise. I hurt my back the day after I came home getting out of the shower and haven't been able to walk very far at a time. Overall I am feeling fine. I haven't had no pain at all associated with the surgery and my incisions are healing up nicely. I would recommend this surgery to anyone. I feel so much better about myself already and I get to go back to work on the 26th just three weeks after surgery. I could've gone back sooner if I hadn't hurt my back. But sitting here at home is getting mighty boring and I am ready to go back. I am going to our office Christmas Party Thursday and I am thinking about going tomorrow and getting a new hairstyle to surprise everyone at the office with. I will quit babbling hugs to all, Renee

Wow its been forever since I have updated but here it goes I have went from 418 to 230 pounds makes it 188 pounds lost since Dec 5th 2002 juat a little over a year and I feel great, I am working out at the gym to tone up the skin and all and my life is so much better now that I have lost the weight, I would recommend this to anyone considering the surgery. I can play with my kids now and actually do outside activities. I am gonna post an updated pic as soon as possible hugs to all

My First Impression of DR Dewitt was WOW He is cute. So young looking to be a surgeon. But as soon as he started to talk I new he was as competent as he was good looking. I personally have never had a problem with his office staff they have always been just as sweet as can be to me. He sit me down and ask me over and over did I have any questions he could answer for me he was very thorough and took his time and made sure I was comfortable with what he told me. He strongly emphasized how I would have to follow strict after care and It hasnt been hard to do. He gave me a structured after care program to follow and sent me plenty of information in the mail when I first called to set up my first appt. He was very open about the risk and benefits of surgery. I would rate him overall a 10 and his surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. I would recommend him to anyone. He saved my life and that is not something I will ever forgot. He took top spot as my favorite DR.

The insurancee company took their time but in the end they were not my problem. They told me I was approved but it was the actual claim that Dr. Clements Office filed That kept my first office visit from being paid. It was gonna cost me $439.00 for my first visit. I called the insurance company ad asked why they didnt pay it and they said because of the claim the Drs office sent. Which was obesity instead of pre-op testing. The drs office knowing this would cause payment to be denied. I have been very upset at the drs office since I called my insrance company and they said tey would be glad to pay if the drs office would just refile the claim from obesity to pre-op testing in which they didnt and wouldnt do. It changed my mind about using Dr. Clements since I felt they shouldnt care as long as they got paid it was just a slap in my face which is why I am now using Dr. Dewitt.
