My Return to Ye Olde Book Shoppe
Jul 16, 2014
Barnes and Noble asked if I was able to come back to work a bit early to help plan some events coming up. Not working the floor, carrying books, or pushing carts. Just organizing a ton of stuff with my own personal "minion" to move the boxes for me. Barnes and Noble starts a huge giveaway this weekend with lots of follow up events. Next week I'm hosting an author event and leading the DC trivia night two days later. The week after that I'm leading the Harry Potter trivia event! I just need to really stay focused on my eating plan so that it doesn't screw up my water intake for the day. Also...mustn't forget to drink!
I do like working there but having the last 6 weeks off from them reminded me just how nice free evenings can be. Also the drive to Natick can be a pain. I set my schedule for just 2 days a week Mon-Fri but that might change because of what I found out today. The place where I am temping is hiring me! So pay bump, no more Cobra, and real benefits incoming soon. It will be nice to be able to save money again... I blew through a lot of my saving with this surgery. Taking 2 weeks of unpaid blows. On top of that Cobra payments and the $2000 deductible for my surgery. Though I am back to solid ground now with today's paycheck even without the pay bump.
Tomorrow night I'm going to plan a few meals (or in other words make a dish that equals several pouch portions) and I need to add variety. Also I forgot to stop for popsicles again! I wasn't able to eat breakfast until I got to work. Maybe I will try a hot tea when I first get up tomorrow.
I did call my doc today about being sore still from swimming the other night and she said I was stupid/silly. Well her PA relayed the message but still... Lazy in the pool = ok. Swimming in the pool bad.
Today's menu:
- B: Ham and Cheese egg bites courtesy of Eggface's website
- S: Chobani blueberry greek yogurt 100
- L: 1/2 cup Chicken chili
- S: Chobani vanilla greek yogurt 100
- D: 1/2 cup Chicken chili
- S: No after dinner snack for me today. Just got home and too late to be bothered with it.
- TOTALS: Calories 765, Protein 75, Carbs 71 (darn chili), Fat 23
Other things of note:
- W: Didn't do well today. With my daily schedule all weird today I kept forgetting to either drink or eat. I will hit the min by the time I crawl into bed though.
- V: Made sure to get them all in today
- E: Worked all day at a desk but started back up at my part time job at Barnes and Noble tonight. Simple stuff and they let me sit when needed! Per fit bit 6432 paces equaling 2.69 miles and 5 flights of stairs.

Did well with making sure I planned out my food for today but honestly... today sucked. So sore from swimming yesterday and on top of that super light headed/dizzy. Like woah dizzy.
On top of that I'm out of popsicles. *Pout*

- S - Cheese stick thingy = 5 protein (calcium chewable)

Good amount of water today. Delayed eating breakfast until I got to work so I got a good start before then. Easily 80 ozs for today.
Was going to walk around my neighborhood after dinner but too dizzy. I'm going to watch a movie in bed. Night!
Let's start this off right...
Jul 14, 2014
I'm 4 weeks out and today was my first day with any real issues. The first one was my fault. I know I ate my breakfast too fast and spent the next hour or so feeling crappy. At lunch I got the same reaction though I swear I was eating slowly and taking my time. No issue at dinner except I got full much sooner than usual. I guess I just had an off day.
Other than that I had a good day today. I'm an accountant and therefor I sit all day. I decided that I needed to start getting my exercise groove on! Went swimming after work at the YMCA and really made myself exercise for at least 30 minutes. Boy do my stomach muscles hurt now! But it (hopefully) will get better each time I go.
The Y is doing a special at the moment on 1 hour sessions with a personal trainer and I bought 3 sessions. Going to try it out and see if it works for me!
I'm going to try and do a post every day just so I can keep track of what the heck is going on. I keep lists and lists in my head but putting my daily happenings down on (virtual) paper will help I think!
Oh I received a shipment of Torani sugar free syrups today and I can't wait to try them. I ordered Caramel, Peppermint, and S'Mores! Hopefully these will help my shakes!
Since I had my surgery on a Monday, I've made it my weigh-in day. Though in all honesty I think I step on the scale everyday....I just only write down the Monday weight. I'm in the all too famous 3 weeks stall but I'm still losing weight, just not as fast as the first two weeks.
284.6
Which is 19.8 pounds down from surgery day. I don't know why but I feel disappointed in the weight loss. I imagined it would be greater at first. Silly me.
Today's menu:
- B - Sugar-free popsicle (can't eat breakfast without one...it seems to help my stomach)
- B - 4 Ham and Cheese egg bites = 12 protein (w/ probiotic, 2 multivitamins)
- S - Chobani Plain 0% Greek Yogurt = 15 protein (calcium chewable)
- L - Chicken Chili w/ Kidney beans = 19 protein (calcium chewable)
- S - Chobani Pineapple 100 calorie = 12 protein (calcium chewable)
- D - Morning Star Griller veggie pattie = 15 protein
- Total protein = 73 protein
I want to try and get my protein intake up to 100 and also increase my water. I feel like I am always eating and so it makes it hard to drink water. Or I forget to drink while at work. I get so focused and then the next thing you know an hour has passed of quality H2O time!
