Today marks 2 weeks to go! I went to the hospital today to have my physical, all my lab work, EKG and a chest Xray. Then at 5 pm I attented a class taught by one of the nurses from the 5th floor where I will be staying. She explained exactly what to expect from the time I walk into admitting until the day I am discharged and then some. Now I am feeling a lot more comfortable about the process. I hope she is working when I go in, she had a great personality! She has even had the surgery, so she knows what she is talking about. Well 2 more classes to go and then the 14th will be here before I know it.

4/15/2001 I really only wanted to say that I am counting the days and now I am down to 4 weeks. I have lost about 12 pounds trying to change my behavior. Goodbye Hershey Kisses, no chocolate Easter bunny for me. I read the questions & answers section about once a week to see if someone asks a question I haven't got on my list yet. My angel (Sue Robertson) stay in touch fairly frequently and she is doing just great. She had a lap vs my open which means she is making me jealous with all her activity. Anyway I wanted to say Thank you again to all who have written to me. Linda

Hi Linda....I am too looking forward to May 14th. You said there was an official membership list for this dat! LOL! I have been trying to post my surgery date to the list, but for some odd reason, my pc won't allow me to enter it. I am countind down the days and am also exploring various alternatives to what I have in my cabinets AND my closets! It will be so much fun to finally buy some clothes that don't look like tents! I will be watching for more posts from people with the DAY AFTER MOTHER'S DAY surgery date of May 14th....28 days & counting.............Donna

Linda, You have been a terrific angel for me and I only hope I can give the same back to you. Keep up the great work, the mental preparation is so critical. We will have to get together before you surgery and set up your house so that EVERYTHING you will need will be in easy reach. Take care, Sue

Today is Sunday, April 8, 2001, I have 5 weeks left to go, I am excited that time is going by so quickly. I have plans for the next 2 weekends which will make time go by even faster. I want to thank the people who have posted to my card and also to the ones who have emailed me. I think there is an "official" May14th club now. Everyone is so friendly and we are all anxious to move into a new lifestyle. I checked my closet & found I don't have anything to wear under size 20 so I hope I loose fast which means new clothes, however I will only get one or two things as I hope to be moving to a smaler size soon. Someone suggested the Thrift store which is not a bad idea, I think it would be fun to have an empty closet just for a week or two anyway. I like to live dangerously! Ha Ha! Anyway I have been trying behavior modification to prepare for after surgery but today I bent the rules and had a Twinkie I have not had one in at least 2 or 3 years! It was cool to say this is my last Twinkie! I don't know if my doctor will take me off caffeine or not but I just made myself of wild cherry herbal tea and it is awsome! I am pretty sure I will be able to have herbal teas. Anyway I wanted to check in and say I am down to 5 weeks and I hope the time passes quickly. Thank you again to all who have written to me. Best of Luck to you and I will be praying for all of us. Just remember try to go into the operating room with a smile on your face.
