Liver

May 25, 2010

I am exactly 15 days post op, I was healing very well ..I thought. Now I have this horrible pain on my right side, pain is usually expected on the port site, that is fine, this is more on the right, around the area of my liver. I cant stand without horrible pain and then sitting back down hurts like heck, moving from side to side hurts. I told Doc, he didnt seem to concerned, I am a little worried, as I should be feeling better...not worse. Everything else is great, but I am concerned that this could be liver related, I wont let it go too much longer and I will call my doc again. I sure hope its nothing, I also was reading the forums and could find nothing about pain on the right side..lots of pain for people at the port site tho. This has me a little worried now.

my liquid diet and me...

May 17, 2010

Yucky Yucky Yucky...thats what I have to say about all this liquid stuff. The Boost meal replacement tastes like turkey grease, the vit. water tastes like kool aide. I close my eyes and see food dancing around in my head...I have even dreamed about food..how pathetic is that? I have to laff, coz I am stickin to this like a trooper, I am determined to make this a giant success for me !!! Ihave 6 more days and I can have  cottage cheese put in the blender...ha ha, did u ever think that cottage cheese was considered thick and now needs blending?  That just doesnt even sound good...but hey, better than water !!!! I really am doing great, post op 7 days, I actually vacuumed today....hush..dont tell anybody, not supposed to do that. I am remodeling my house in my head, coz I cant do it for real...I am a frustrated writer as well..cant u tell?? Anyway, this is a very cool journey, I am lovin it...and cant wait to see what the "Step 2" foods have to offer me !!! ...nite nite, will continue more later

after surgery..lapband

May 13, 2010

Here I am, been home now bout 30 hrs. I will say upfront I had some complications, I needed to stay an extra day, Most people will not experience any of these things , and I dont want to scare anyone. I will say this..I am better tonite than last nite and twice better than the nite before that. I had my LapBand surgery Mon. May 10 at 1230 pm. The first complication was...My rib cage was so tight doc had trouble movin around, that would coz me to have more pain than usual. I also have fibromyalgia. The doc explained dealing with my pain will be a challenge. My blood sugar went up, which I understand is fairly normal. I had some EKG changes and a trouble breathing deeply. I have a history of blood clots, so was recieving Heparin shots in the stomach. All in all, I felt like I had been hit by a semi truck. I have a pretty high tolerance to meds, so my pain range stayed at about 8-9 the entire time. I will say this, I had a awesome Doctor and very caring nurses, not one complaint there. The hospital was like a little spa, ea room was a private one and had its one little patio with chairs, loved it. I came home yesterday (Wed) bout 3pm, slept very well last nite and have been up and around today, walking and walking. Each day is a better one, I expect tomorrow to be even better. I am drinking everything I am supposed  to drink...but my taste buds are way off...my boost meal replacement tastes like turkey grease...lol..go figure. I have never seen so many food commercials since I cant eat...seems like every one has some kind of food in it. I will say to all of you getting ready for surgery, you will still think of food, I feel hungry (but really am not hungry), daydream about food..all day, lol. As long as we all know that out brains are still chubby, they havent caught up with out tummy yet, so I relax, drink my drinks, plan on getting better, better health and smaller clothes...yay yah !!! hang in there, its a journey, I am on y 3rd day now...and lovin the idea of whats ahead. nite nite, Franni
