I did not have a weight problem as a child. I started gaining weight after I had my children and many surgeries there after. First I had to have an appendectomy while pregnant for my first child, then 5 weeks later my child was delivered by c-section, 2 years later a gall bladder removal, my second child delivered by c-section a year after that, then the next year an oopherectomy at beginning of the year then hysterecotomy at the end of the year and then finally a surgical hernia repair a year later. It was like a roller coaster and to top it off I got depressed along the way with all these procedures going on. I found comfort in food and have not learned how to controll it. I have tried MANY MANY diet plans and threw away more $$$ than I care to think about. I now have knee and feet problems. I am having to wear arch supports in my shoes to help. I was also advised by my doctor that I will have to take blood pressure pills if I don't lose weight and I am on the verge of getting diabetes, which runs in my family. A lady and a man at my office had the gastric bypass surgeries and both are doing wonderful. I was so envious of them. When I got on my husband's insurance plan I inquired as to whether or not they cover the surgery. After 6 - 8 months of meeting their requirements, I am now able to set a date and look forward to my success of losing weight and feeling better. I am hoping this will be the last surgery I will ever need.
