One year out from 1st consult (2/08)
Feb 24, 2008
This is my one year anniversary from my 1st consult. I weighed 329.1 lbs. I had high blood pressure (bp) even with my max'd out bp medications. I was taking 4 insulin shots a day plus 3 or 4 oral med's. I couldn't walk a block without my hips hurting so bad that I would have to stop. I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without panting and puffing. My color was poor and everyone I see fequently was worried about my survival.
One year later, I haven't had an insulin shot since my surgery in June 2007. I'm down to one oral med twice a day and the doctor is talking about reducing that. I'm down to two bp meds a day and my bp is excellant.
If you take a look at my pictures you will see that I'm down 119 lbs total and I've lost 96 lbs (plus or minus a lb) since my surgery.
I feel so much better and I can walk a mile or two with out pain. I can now walk up stairs easily with no problem. My color has improved and everyone says I was worring them but now I look like I will live to a ripe old age, barring any unforseen circumstances.
