I haven't blogged in a while. I have been so busy with family, work, CASA, class, but here I am. I have been approved for surgery, did my blood work, and gotten my two-week protein diet. Great, huh?? NOT!!! The Psychologist I saw will not apporve my surgery untiil I see another Psychologist a few times........THEN I can have my surgery.

I was hoping to be complete by March 6th so that I can have my surgery on March 20th.....OH WELL. I am feeling so discouraged right now, but I'm trying to stay focused and keep going.

I went to my PCP today and she shared with me that she is not so gung ho about Lap Band. When I saw her last month, she was totally supportive and told me she would do all she could to help me. She told me I need to try to lose the weight on my own and not get a band that was going to make me "starve to death". like her friend literally did. She really upset me and sent me for a loop. She even added that the surgeon I want, and happen to really like, had lost his hospital priviliedges. Once I found out the truth behind it, I found it was not what she tried to make it out to be. She slowed me down but she didn't stop me!!! I am going to another Dr. that will support me in my decision to do what I feel I need to do to better myself. I was really disappointed in her though. Maybe she's going though something. I have to take care of me. I'M KEEPING MY SURGEON!!!!!

I went to Dr. Lutrell's office yesterday for my consultation. The people at LSA are absolutely awesome!!! Dr. Lutrell mandates a psych eval for all of his patients which I think is a great idea. The Psychologist I spoke with was such a wonderful lady! I was so comfortable with her. She told me she thought I would do fine with the surgery. She answered all of my questions and was a tremendous help in giving me an idea what life may be like for me after surgery. 

Back to Dr. Lutrell....he is so phenomenally kind! He answered all of my questions with confidence. I feel very good about him doing my surgery. I saw him late in the afternoon, but he still had an excellent attitude, was friendly, and still smiling! Erin, the nurse, went ahead and let me have the pre-op diet mix so that I wouldn't have to make another trip to Little Rock after I receive my surgery date. She is so considerate and sweet!! 

I'm finally getting excited.......IT'S REALLY GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!

I went to Dr. Rex Lutrell's Lap-Band Seminar. Very infromative! I made an appontment to have a personal consultation with him and to have my psych eval done on 2-14-08. I was told that I would receive my 2 week protien diet on the same day, but I wouldn't start until they call me with a surgery date. This is so exciting!!! I never thought this day would come!
