I have been heavy as long as I can remember, sometimes worse then others. As A young child my parents moved A lot. Eating was my only friend. As I got into high school I was a yo yo dieter mostly just not eating, but still at least 40 lbs overweight. I became pregnant at 17 yrs old. When the Dr. told me I had Gestational diabetes it didn't even faze me I still ate what ever I wanted to. After my first child was born, I couldn't get below 200 lbs. Through my late teens and early twenties I went between 215 and 280. At age 24 I hit 300 lbs, that was a hard time for me. I managed to 36 lbs and I was doing pretty good, then I found out that I was pregnant for the second time. Again my Dr. told me that I had Gestational diabetes, this time I had to take my blood sugar FOUR times a day and keep a food journal. I even ended up in the hospital once when I couldn't keep my blood sugar down. My second child was born healthy and happy. I married the most wonderful man in 2004. (He loves me unconditionally.) The event that has brought me to decide to have WLS, was when I turned 30 and hit my highest weight EVER!! (315 lbs) This caused me to become depressed and full of anxiety. I attended my informational meeting in Feb. of 2007. my first appointment was in March. It has been an interesting adventure. I am down to 279lbs. Surgery is in 24 days. October 30, 2007.
