Well, I guess I told most of my story in my introduction. I do hope to have Lap-band Surgery in the next 6 months. My insurance does cover the surgery, so it's just a matter of approval. I meet all the qualifications, so I'm hoping that won't be a problem.
Morbid obesity runs in my family. My paternal great-grandmother and my father both suffered. My father had gastric bypass two years ago. He's lost over 250 lbs! I'm so proud of him. You can see him (7 months post-op) in one of my wedding pics I've posted. Unfortunately, my great-grandmother died of complications from her obesity.
My goal is to stop the cycle. I want to be healthy and I want my future children to be healthy. I don't want to have to sit on the sidelines because of my weight and just watch as they grow up. I want to run and play with them. I want to teach them that exercise and healthy living is the best way to live your life. Being a couch potato is boring. It's time to start living. Let the journey begin...
