I am back home from the surgery. I am freshly pouched. I am sore and feel crummy but I am so happy that I decided to do this. Time for a nap.

So, I went to my pre-operative class at De Paul, where I finally got to meet my Doctor and got a chest xray, blood drawn, and had a breathing test. Then, we finally received our surgery date.  When my nurse called to tell me I had been approved by Aetna and that I need to come to De Paul wed the 20Th for my pre operative class, she said they would schedule me for surgery about 1 month out. My class was about 12 people and they told us that surgery date were chosen by lottery. Well I guess I won the lottery. In my mind I was having my surgery in a month, so imagine my surprise when my nurse told me "Well, we have you scheduled for the 26Th of May" Next week people!@!##** Wow! Next week. I will be on the losers bench in no time.

I finally got approved!!!! Woo! Woo! I go on the 20th to DePaul to see my Dr for the first time and they will run all the test I need pre-surgery. I can't wait!

Here I am I weigh 287 lbs.  Unbelievable. I am having trouble tying my shoes. I have difficulty squeezing into booths in restaurants where I go to eat large amounts of food. I can barely fit my behind in the seats at the movie theater and forget about getting up during the movie to use the restroom. Let's talk about bathrooms, sometimes I cannot fit into the stalls or have enough room to wipe. Oh yea, wiping is becoming more difficult as well. Delightful. I get winded and heart palpitations getting out of my car and walking up to the house, to the store, to the quick mart, to the place I work, walking anywhere for over 2 minutes. You know that place on your body above your groin and below your belly. That place that doesn't seem to gain weight? Well, my belly is hanging over this place and I get rashes, it itches, and it is uncomfortable. Even if I lose all kinds of weight, I fear this will be a continuing problem. My hunger is never ending and cannot seem to be filled. If I can't get this surgery I am not sure what I will do. This is my very first blog. Stick around we'll see what happens next.
