Feeling Better & Healthier Each Day
Aug 16, 2010
I just returned from a trip to Denver to visit one of my sons. What a great time we had together. Also, it was wonderful that I could actually walk around without getting winded and tired out. It is amazing what a 40 pound weight loss can do for you. Another milestone is that I was able to wear a regular seat belt on the plane and did not feel cramped in the seat as I have in the past. I am so very thankful for God opening the doors for me to live a healthier life. I am humbled at the such a blessing!

Blessings of 3 Month Weight Loss
Aug 11, 2010
I am just a little over my 3 month anniversary of having RNY Gastric By-Pass Surgery (May 4, 2010). Typically I weigh once a week on Sunday mornings. Strangely, I decided to weigh in today and found out I had lost 40 pounds since my surgery. PRAISE THE LORD. I almost cried as it was such a surprise and a blessing. I have not weighed this in over 20 years! I feel so much healthier. I am still struggling in coming up with creative ideas for eating, but am being careful of what I eat. I also am struggling in getting 8 glasses of fluids down each day I can usually get 6 pretty easy but beyond that, there is not enough time in the day to spread out your eating and drinking. I often feel like I have never had to eat so much before. Nice feeling and yet still losoing pounds. I am humbled by this opportunity to become healthier through weight loss.

Sucess with Curves
Jul 18, 2010
I started working out again at Curves on June 7, 2010. In just a little over 5 weeks, I have lost a good many inches:
Bust:: 1.5", Waist: 3.5"; Abdonmen: 4.5"; Hips: 3.5"; Thighs (x2): 1.5"; Arms (x2): 1.5"; Weight loss: 11.5 lbs; Body Fat Loss: 3.1%; Body Fat loss: 11/65 lbs; BMI: dropped 2.25 (now 37.30); Overall total inches lost: 16.25!
Praise the Lord!!! He is my rock and deliverer. Without His strength, all this would not be possible. I am so thankful He opened the doors for me to have RNY surgery on May 4, 2010.
I had reached a plateau for a few weeks. The last two weeks have been great. I have lost 6 lbs over the last 2 weeks.
I feel so much better with 32 lbs off my body. My heart must rejoice daily not having to support that extra weight. I humbly thank my Lord for this blessing!

Jul 12, 2010
After being at a plateau for 3 weeks, I finally had a break through and had a weight loss of 3 pounds last week. I increased my time at Curves and I think that definitely helped. Praise the Lord the weight is starting to come off again. I have now lost 27 lbs in 2 months.

Need Food Ideas
Jun 15, 2010
I am really struggling with ideas for food. I recently transitioned to eating regular foods. I am very conscious of trying to eat high protein and low carb foods. However, I am beginning to get tired of eggs, cottage cheese, low fat cheese sticks, baked chicken thighs, thin sliced deli meat and shrimp cocktail. I eat very little fruits or veggies since they tend to have many carbs. Can anyone give me some other suggestions for high protein and low carb foods that taste good?
Also, I understand I should be eating between 60-80 grams of protein a day. What is the guideline for carbs. Somewhere I read you should keep the carbs to around 20 grams per day. Is that a good guideline? Because of my focus on high proteins and low carbs, I am only eating about 500 calories a day. Is that about right?
I am not losing weight recently and that is frustrating since I am eating well and find it hard to eat more. I just am not hungry.....Praise the Lord!!!!! I am working out at Curves also. Maybe I am losing inches, but I sure would like to continue losing weight. I have lost about 1.5 pounds in the last 2 weeks.
