MY STORY
Jun 12, 2007
Here is my journey............. I would suggest that you schedule your Sleep Study and Psychiatric Evaluation ASAP. These usually take the longest, they are both 2 part tests.
For me the longest wait was for the consult with Dr. Roye, I called in Oct 10th for an appointment. I could not believe the date they gave March 3rd.!!!
I was shocked and it seem to take for ever for that day to come.
Dr Roye is such a nice gentle man, he will sure you fully understand the complexity and seriousness of the operations. He will also ask you which operation you are interested in and why.
I was approved within 2 weeks. I recieved my paperwork from his office that contains all the tests needed for you, along with your Rx forms for all the test.
There were 4 test that were already scheduled for me.
1) Cardiolyte streess test on 3.29.07 day1 (2 hrs) day 2(1 hr)
2) CCK Hida scan on 4.2.07 (2.5 hours)
3) Ultrasound/Gallbladder on 4.3.07 (40 min)
4) Pulmonary Function Test on 4.6.07. (1 hr)
Luckily for me I had previously had the Sleep Study and the Pulmonary in Dec and Jan, so that was two less things for me to do.
I called and made my Psych and Nutrtional Evaluations the day after my paperwork.
My Nutrtional Eval was for 3.22.07 ( 30min)
My Psych was scheduled for 3.23.07(2.5 hrs & 3.26.07(40 min)
The other tests that did not need a scheduled appointment are chest x-ray, EKG, & BLOODWORK-had be done last .
I called the office for my pre-surgery appointment and I got my appointment for 4.27.07.
The test showed that I may possibly have blockage in my heart, but Dr Roye thought that it may have been a shadow from my breast.
I then had to go see a cardiologist for the consult on 5.9.07and then I had a stress Echo-Cardogram on 5.14.07.
DrRoye was right there was no blockage. YEAH!! I called Dr Roye's office to get a date for surgery, but he was on vacation.
I called the following week everday, until I got my date of July 10th.
I have to still take the madatory Pregnancy test the last week of June.
I also have my mandatory Pre-Op surgery class on July 5th (8.30am-11:30am)
Now I am just preparing everything getting my food supplies and everthing else I will need after the first weeks of surgery.
That's my story and I am sticking with it.
