Hello. My name is Elizabeth and my story is nothing special. I have been overweight my whole life. I was always made fun of in school, starting as early as I can remember. I enjoyed sports and playing outside, but I also enjoyed food way to much. I went to an amusement park with my family about 5 years ago, and I didn't fit in the seat. I think that was the most embarassing time of my life! My family has always been big, and my mom was able to go on the ride, but I couldn't. My parents both have a lot of health conditions and have been able to lose some weight on their own, but no matter what diet I try (Weight Watchers, Calorie Counting, No Carb, Catobolic) I can lose weight, but gain it all back plus some. I had my son in October 2004. He is 3 1/2 now and I absolutly can not keep up. I don't have the energy that I need to play with him like I want. Those are just a few of the reasons I decided to have the Lap Band surgery on March 13, 2008. My new birthday!
I haven't even had my first band adjustment (some people refer to them as fills) yet, but I am confident that this is going to be the start of a new life for me and my son. I will come back and update as I lose weight and/or get band adjustments.
