3 weeks yesterday...
Jan 18, 2011
Well....can't believe it's been 3 weeks since surgery already. Back to working full time at the office, feels great to be out and about. Cabin fever was brutal!! I've lost 40 pounds total 16 pre-op & 24 since surgery and I've lost 2 inches! Yay!! Haven't lost anything for 10 days though....seems a bit early for a stall...seems like most folks on here don't stall til week 3. I wonder if maybe I'm not taking in enough calories? My average range is from 400-600 a day. My body is probably wondering what the hell I'm doing to it! (Note to body: I'm just trying to help you!) My first follow up with the heart and wellness team (including the nutritionist) isn't til next week, so I'll wait it out til then. I'm sure it'll get better soon and though I know 40 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, after being able to get on the scale for several weeks with results and to now suddenly not see any is a bit discouraging. I look forward to the moment when someone sees me and has a genuine look of "wow". For now, I'll settle for all the "Oh yeah, I can see the loss in your face." Ugh...I didn't do this so I could have a more defined jawbone.
I'll keep on doing what it is I think I'm supposed to be and really look forward to that meeting with the NUT next week. Hmmm, funny, this is the first time I've ever actually WANTED to see the dietician! One thing I will say, is this website has helped me through SO many questions. Just when I feel like I'm the only one thinking or feeling something there is someone else on here with the same questions or concerns. I will FOREVER be grateful to the many people who share their experiences, especially those who share those eternally inspiring before & after photos...they have gotten me through many a weak moment.
Keep on chuggin'

Down 14 pounds! Yikes! That was quick....can't wait to see it fall off this fast in the months to come! My winter coat actually buttons with extra room, unlike when I first put it on in November. I'm already taking a fraction of the insulin I was taking before and can feel a difference in my energy. Small things make a big difference I suppose. Been on the liquid diet for 8 days....I'll keep on chuggin' for 4 more and then Monday's the big day!! Good thing I have Christmas as a distraction this week or I'd be going crazy with anticipation!!
Pre-op Liquid Diet...day 4.
