Quickly approaching my 30th birthday, and finally deciding to seriously consider weight loss surgery. I have been a large woman ever since puberty, and in 2007 I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. It helped explain what was happening to me, but I am still dealing everyday with the issues that it presents. In January 2014 I had a stage II uterine prolapse and underwent a sacrohysteropexy to repair and reposition my uterus. In August 2014 a baseball size tumor was discovered just inside my cervix. Immediately I underwent a myomectomy to remove the tumor. Due to advanced PCOS at this time I am unsure if I will be able to achieve the one thing I've always wanted: children. But, I am a fighter and I won't give up. I am about to have my first appointment with an endocrinologist and then hopefully move into getting WLS approved by my insurance.
I would be interested in meeting up with people in my area who have undergone WLS, especially those who also have suffered with PCOS. Please message me if you'd like to meet up at the park, coffee shop, or other public venue.
