Hello Patsy - It's perfectly normal to be nervous right before our surgery. It's that built in "caution" mechanism that we were all born with. You're going to be FINE and you have to believe in yourself, your decision and your doctor. Trust me you'll be updating us a week after your surgery telling us it went just fine and how happy you are to be on the new path to your new life. The week before my surgery I was on a natural high, almost a euphoric state of mind. I couldn't believe I was getting that "second" chance ...to LIVE life again. I wish you all the success and happiness that comes with being healthier and thinner. Sure, there can be a few challenges along the way, but no worse then sitting on the sidelines - confined by our overweight shells. You're about to break free, enjoy and embrace all the wonderful "moments" that come with this journey. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for a successful and uneventful surgery. <i>"To grow, you must be willing to let your present and future be totally <u>unlike</u> your past. Your history is not your destiny."</i> .....Hugs and Smiles : )

Hi, Patsy: Just wanted to send my prayers your way; I had surgery on 08/19/03 at St. Vincent Carmel, and was very pleased with the care I received from them. My Dr. was Dr. Cacucci, who is one of Dr. Jones' partners. Don't worry about getting in all the liquids and food in, especially at first. It is difficult. You just have to remember to sip, sip, sip, and walk, walk, walk! Please remember to do everything the doctor tells you; you will be much better off in the long run. Don't try to push your pouch. If you still feel hungry after your 2 ounces of food, in a half hour try drinking some milk. That usually works for me. Your sensation of being full will feel different; it will feel higher up, and it will feel more like just not being hungry, as opposed to being stuffed like we used to. Please feel free to e-mail me any time; I'd be happy to help any way I can! Good luck, Sweetie, and God Bless!

<b>~*~I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.~*~Hugs~*~</b>
