Yesterday made six months since surgery. I am down 90 pounds. I haven't been happy with the slowness of my loss, but I think it's my fault. I have slacked off on my protein drinks and I have been doing bettter for the last 2 weeks. I have found that if I use chilled coffee (decaff) and a little Splenda it makes a great drink.
But. it is still worth it all. My body feels so much better. I do feel some self-confidence returning. I am down 3 full sizes in tops and bottoms, one and a half sizes in shoes, and about 2 sizes in my rings. I still have not checked my actual inches lost tho.
That's it for today. I AM going to make a better effort at keeping things updated.

Happy New year!! Mom also had her 74th birthday yesterday.
I did my "official" weigh in yesterday and can add 2 more pounds to the minus side. I have got to get my loss accelerated.
A few more things I've noticed lately....my shoe size is down ;ring size is down.
And I have found out that "olean", which is the fat substitute, will cause me to have loose stools. I can't say that it is dumping as I do not have any pain, cramping or dehydration as you do with dumping.

The end is almost here. Of 2006, that is. 2007 is going to be my year to succeed.
Let's see...changes I've noticed so far. I am 14 weeks out today. My loss is at 74 pounds. Have lost at least 1 size in shoes, having trouble finding any to fit without going out and buying new ones and I hate to do that with still wanting/needing to lose at least 100 more pounds. Ring size is down 2 sizes. Tops are down 2-3 sizes, depends on how they're made. Bottoms down 2 full sizes (can get one size smaller on, but makes a huge roll above the waist band and I HATE looking like that!!!).
The boobs are definitley going, the one place I really don't have anything to spare. And the panties are getting really loose.
I have got to get my measurements taken. I still have the starting numbers some where, so hopefully I'll have time to find them this weekend.
I'm continuing to do well with my protein. I go to www.unjury.com and use their protein calculator to see how much I need to be taking in. So far I have not seen any excessive hair loss and my nails seems to grow like crazy. I have been purchasing my protein from www.vitalady.com. It takes a little time to get it here, but she has a great selection and offers samples in just about all of the items.
Here'a to a great New year!!

Boy, I thought I would do better about keeping my notes up dated!!
I am just over 12 weeks out and I have now lost 74 pounds. I have found several different flavors of protein powder that I really like and have been getting in 80-100 grams a day. So far my hair is staying where it's supposed to. My nails seem to grow like crazy too. I still need to check my measurements and see how much they have come down. I am down 3 sizes in tops and 2 full sizes in bottoms. Luckily, I have clothes stored back so I haven't had to put a lot of money into clothing yet.
So far, my only problem with food has been meats that are too dry. I think I will not be eating very much chicken or turkey breast in the future. The thigh area meat does great. I I have not tried sugars yet and don't really want to find out that I CAN eat them, so that is an area I am avoiding.
I have also seen improvements in other areas of my life. My Mom says that she hasn't heard me snoring lately, which is great. My back/leg pain hardly ever comes for a visit. There's room for me and the cat in the lounger now. And I don't need the car seat all the way back in order to fit under the wheel.
I am going to do my best to update more often.

It has been a fairly hectic week for me. I am up to minus 59 pounds now. I heard from Dr. Nighberts office about my labs that were drawn on 11/3. Lilli called and said it was really obvious that I had not been getting in my vitamins and iron. I told her that I was having trouble getting them down and I was ordering some chewable Bariatric Advantage. She also told me to get some vitamin C to take with the iron.
Went to see Bob Seger in concert last night. What an experience!! He is well worth the money to go see. AND, I also got into a pair of Lee ZIP up jeans that I hadn't wore in probably 2 years. So that officially makes me down 2 pant sizes!!

I had my follow up appointment with Dr. Nighbert on Friday, Nov. 3. The official total there is now 50 pounds. BUT, I don't go back until January, 2007, so I am going to use my Thinner scale at home to monitor my loss. I got on those yesterday buck naked and it says I have now lost 58 pounds. I'm happy with that!! I didfind out that althought I thought I was getting in sufficient protein, I wasn't. I am doinf all I can to remedy that as I do feel that this is my key to a quicker weight loss.

The scale finally gave me some good news yesterday! I am now down 50 pounds. I have been working hard at getting my protein intake up, so maybe it is paying off. Until you've had this surgery, you don't realize how hard it is to get all the nutrition in that you need. Before surgery, it's like, hey, that'll be EASY done!!! NOT! I am bringing more protein to work with me as I have more time to get it worked in while I'm working than I do in the little time I have at home in the evenings.

I am beginning to feel like I'm one of those people that the surgery isn't going to work for. I have been at -44 pounds for 3 weeks now. I am working very diligently to increase my protein intake. I have not been to the Y much as we've been really shorthanded at work and have worked to 6 almost every day. I feel like this is slowing me down. Hopefully, things will get better here at work and I will have a more normal schedule soon.
I think I may be entering the phase that is known as the "window of misery". I had some problems Saturday night and still didn't feel quite as well as I have been on Sunday. One thing that is good, I have read and researched enough til I knew to expect this. And to know that it will pass. I have been reading more journals here and that lets me know that there are quite a few out there in the same boat as myself. I know I should be and AM happy to have lost those 44 in the length of time that I did, but it would be nice to see the scale continue on a downward trend.

I'm trying to figure out these new instructions on here!! I continue to feel good, have had a little problem with chicken, so I think I'll avoid it for a bit. It may be that the meat is just too dry. My "menu" is pretty varied already, so I'm happy.

Things continue to go well. I started on my vitamins last night. The only thing that I have had some problem with was some beef that apparently was just too dry. It sat in my pouch all afternoon a couple of days ago and it did HURT. I am beginning to notice that I am feeling really good lately.
