Hello to everyone. It's really been a long time since I have posted to the site, although I read it almost everyday. I wanted to share my experience with everyone today. I haven't updated my profile since surgery due to the fact that it's been a long road to recovery but everyday gets better. After reading my story if you ask would I have this surgery again I would have to honestly tell you YES I would.

I had open RNY February 21st and have done wonderful with the actual bypass. I did however, some of you may remember, that I had to come home with an open wound due to infection. My wonderful husband had to pack the wound twice a day. Lord knows that man has a stomach of steel. LOL On March 17th I had to have another procedure so Dr. Isbell could partially close the wound. In which since then I have been healing wonderfully. The rest of the incision has almost closed. I have had other surgeries and due to that fact I had another scar located next to where Dr. Isbell had to open me with my RNY which made the scars so close together that I had a poor blood supply in between the incision and the previous surgery and that's how the infection got started.

Then, on March 22nd I was hospitalized for another 12 days with pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism. That was the scariest thing I think I have ever had to face. I had to have the fluid drawn off my lungs and that wasn't very fun. I am just so thankful for Dr. Isbell's medical ability to act quickly and save my life. I first thank God for his healing hands. If not for that I would not be here today.

I want to add that I am down 50 pounds and have not experienced any vomiting. I can eat almost anything I want. I have not however tried sugar or any sweets. That's what got me this way in the first place.

Hello to everyone and have a wonderful day. I just thank God I am able to spend a few minutes with my friends here on AMOS. Love you all.
