"My first impression of Dr. Huffman? Nice dresser :P lol. Second, he seems to be a caring surgeon, who realizes that each patient is different. He was confident, but not cocky. Made me feel at ease. I only met some of the office staff, but the ones that I met were really nice and helpful, but they need to learn to smile. Dr. Huffman makes you understand that IF you decide to have this surgery, that YOU are in control over your results, and that if you seem to be doing the wrong things.. his words.. he "will chew you out". He said he has had patients leave in tears because he told them off for not taking care of themselves properly, or overeating or eating the wrong things. He strongly emphasizes aftercare, and the monthly support group meetings. He explained the risks of this surgery in detail and in terms that I could understand. So far... on a scale from 1 to 10... 10 being the best... I rate him a 8. I think in this profession it would be a good thing to be surgically competent AND have a great bedside manner, but I would gladly have a sourpuss anyday as long as he was surgically competent. Of course, these statements are mine and may not equal other patients. Everyone has an opinion... that was mine :)"
