"Hi I just wanted to update this as I have finally had my app't with the surgeon on March 4th, 2003.... At first I was nervous...and then as the doctor finally came in...and started by introducing himself...and giving a description of this surgery...and the importance of understanding the pros and cons of this...and statistics were also given...and knowing that this is a revision I did have questions that others of a first timer would not have...and this was discussed...I do feel comfortable with the doctor...and really appreciated his honesty with me...as I know that this is a very serious decision for me to make...I would like to say that Dr. Fry is a very sincere doctor...and had explained all that I wanted to know...and should I have anymore questions I should bring them in with me on my next visit...I shall update again then... May 30th,2002---I am still waiting to hear from the insurance whether I am approved for the revision...in the meantime I go to the support group meetings and this week..Dr. Fry will be there "again"...this will be his second time in a 6 month period...I think that this shows his concern of wanting to learn of the post-op's and what may be some of their later "problems"...And for Dr. Fry, he is the chief surgeon of the hospital..so with him taking the time to come and talk with the support group shows his interest in learning about the long term of this surgery..."
