Finally, On July 22, 2009 I received the 2nd best news of my life, a letter that said APPROVED!
This had been my second attempt at getting approval for WLS. Early in 2006 I had attempted the procedure only to be denied by the insurance company. I was very frustrated and essential gave up for a period of two years. As my frustration and waste line continued to grow, so did my desire to aquire the tool of WLS. I was determined this time. Starting in October of 2008, working closely with my P.A., Dave Lamport; we crossed our T's and dotted our I's and gained the desired outcome, approval.
It is now 10-17-09 and I'm just over a month from having my surgery. It is scheduled for 11-23-09. I wish it was yesterday and that I was on my way to improving my life already. I have been a member of OH for several months now and have read all about everyone's frustations and fears. I can honestly say I'm not scared in the least bit!!!! My loved ones are doing all of that for me.
Due to some obligations I have, it was not possible to have WLS any sooner than my scheduled day. I can't wait! I'm looking forward to hitting the reset button on my life. More to come!
