I'm starting my WLS journey. My first appointment is December 2, 2008 with the GI / Nutrition Dept at Geisinger Hospital Wyoming Valley here in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA. My surgeon will be Anthony Petrick ay Geisinger in Danville, PA. Hopefully by this time next year I'll be a couple months post-op and have wonderful things to report.
I went through the 6 month program, psych evaluation, GI testing and all I needed to have the surgery about 3 years ago, but backed out of it. I wasn't ready and thank God I realized it in time. Now I'm ready to make the commitment. In those 3 years I've gained another 45 pounds. Something has to give here!
I'm looking forward to making friends here and at the support group meetings at Geisinger. I'm also looking forward to being a much thinner, healthier, happier me!
