Diary of a mad fat white woman - The fat is going to lose
My name is Jen and I'm looking for a friend who's in the battle of the bulge with me! I'm 28, married and getting the the point where I have trouble moving.
I tried for a year to lose weight through diet and exercise and successfully lost 20 lbs overall with periods of weight gain. I have PCOS and unfortunately the weightloss that I had been so proud of all but disappeared. A year's worth of work lost.
I felt like I was doing something wrong!! But I wasn't eating out often, I was cutting my portions, eating more healthy almost too healthy and my weight kept rising. With 140 lbs to lose I began worrying and stressing out about how serious my health issues (including sleep apnea, insomnia, pre-diabetes) had become.
In April of 2008, I decided to have gastric bypass RNY surgery.
On September 2nd, 2008 the surgery was completed.
Update 9/17/08: Appointment with Surgeon and Dietician
242 lbs
Update 10/7/08: Hit a plateau. At 236 for going on 3 weeks now.
Update 10/15/08: The last couple of weeks I had gained approx. 5 lbs, now back down to 236 and appears that the plateau may be broken! I'll know tomorrow hopefully :-)
Update 10/20/08: Plateau is indeed broken for now. I'm down to 232. Whoo hoo!!
Update 10/28/08: 224 lbs, arm measurements L:15 and R:15
Updated 11/17/08: 218 lbs. Hit another small plateau because of recurring bladder infections. I'm back exercising and feeling alot better.
