Olathemommy
I am a 35 year-old, married mother of two boys. I've been married for 10 years. I've been overweight as long as I can remember. I like to think I'm pretty active and very outgoing. I've tried all my life to watch my meal/snack portions and what exactly I eat. I try not to deprive myself of anything..all in moderation.
I have lost a great deal of weight twice in my life. The first time was when I was a senior in High School. In 1990, I did Jenny Craig and don't recall exactly how much but I was in size 5 jeans. I looked and felt wonderful for my Senior Picture and Prom (I felt like the new Sandy from Grease- everyone was in awe of my transition)! The second time, I lost over 75 lbs in 2004 on Weight Watchers. I was wearing size 10 jeans, felt and looked great. I had kept it off an year and decided on a tummy tuck to help with the excess sagging skin. I think the down time recovering from that surgery ruined my newly aquired lifestyle changes/habits.
I love to Jazzercise. During my recent weight loss, I was working out 6-7 days a week. Since the tummy tuck, I've slowed down to about 3 days a week, my work hours changed, and my portion contol has gotten out of whack again. Although I've been obese most of my life, I'm starting to see (and feel) the issues associated with being obese.
Since I started the journey to actually take control of my life and weight, I have good news! I was finally approved. I was my first attempt but the process took 8 months. My surgery is set for October 6, 2008. No matter where you may be in this journey, don't give up. Your life and those that come into contact with your depends on it! Wish me luck. Best of luck to you and may God Bless your precious journey..you are worth it!
