Bout with depression
Oct 31, 2008
Hi - It's been pretty hairy this week. But lots of support from OH folks and feeling a bit better today. Wow - as Churchill called it [depression] --> the Black Dog. When that black dog gets a hold of you, it's ... indescribable. But tomorrow, that walk for sure. Believe it or not, this is a major accomplishment! I'm committing to it right here. Thanks, everyone (: -Barbara
1st Fill gradually having greater effect
Oct 28, 2008
Hi - I was wondering about my 1st fill - didn't seem to be much difference after I had it a week ago yesterday. But gradually, it seems to be having the desired effect. I really could *not* eat as much today for lunch. I was surprised. So the process is beginning to work - it's so great. Newbies, hang in there! Don't worry (: -Barb PS: I still have to do the rest of my Profile. Lazy computer user | :
Support here is really great
Oct 27, 2008
Hi! Thanks to Jean, I have a MUCH better understanding of how the Lap Band system will progress. Thanks, Jean!! There is so much I didn't understand about the process pre-op. I am very happy I had the procedure, though. I understand that depression is not uncommon after the surgery, although it seems like it should be the other way around. I feel I am suffering from this somewhat. But support here on the OH web site, so far, has been fabulous. I hope that I'll have the rest of my Profile done soon. Bye for now ...

I had a Lap Band on 11 Sept. 08 - easy & successful recovery. Still a bit confused, though, about how things are supposed to progress. Also, the Lap Band support group meets only once a month and could not make the October meeting. I wish it were more like once a week or once every other week! Any Newbie Lap Bander comments welcome. Thanks and good luck to everyone with his/her challenges. It's not easy!!!
