2 weeks post

Aloha,
Just over two weeks post-op and the diarrhea has diminished considerably. The best thing I can say about it is that I have warning before it happens now.
On another note, eating is painful. I can swallow a small, well-chewed bite and if I wait a few minutes, I can swallow another small bite. I'm surprised that eating is as painful as it is, given that my stomach is a sleeve, not a small pocket like the RNY would provide. If I swallow too much or don't wait long enough between bites, I get bad pain under my sternum. There have been two occasions when I've had to vomit and that relieved the pain somewhat.
I also can't tolerate anything cold. Room temp or warmed up is OK, but cold food or liquid produces the same pain as over-eating.
One of my lap incisions reopened and drained considerably. At this juncture, both my original drain and the newly opened incision are beginning to heal. I keep both cleaned with hydrogen peroxide.
I haven't begun vitamins yet because the ones I have are huge. Even though I have a pill crusher, the taste is bad.
One question: I never tolerated iron well. Will I be able to forgo it in the future or will I have to suffer the upset of ingesting it?
Thanks,
Tom

2 days post surgery

Well, I'm alive, but that's about all I can say right now. My surgery was successful - no leaks, and I'm at the hotel right now. My doctor will come tomorrow and remove the drain. Sunday, I fly home to Hawaii.
While I want nothing more than to be home right now, I have diarrhea and am very worried about that while traveling.
