My 1st Post
Jan 11, 2011
Let me start by saying...I am not really the blogging type and I can't believe I am even posting something.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm where do I begin. Well I had my surgery on Dec. 27th of this year. I had my reservations about it because I felt I wasn't fully informed about the procedure (Roux-En Y gastric bypass)....I hadn't discovered this website yet : )...anyway. I initially wanted to do the Gastric Sleeve but my insurance company denied me and I didn't feel like going through the appeals process ( I heard it was a pain). So I opted for the Roux-En Y.
I started my numerous doctors visits ( nutrition, psych etc..) in Mid Oct. Then on Dec. 6 my doctors office called me and said they had an opening on Dec. 27th....not thinking clearly, I jumped on the date : (. It actually worked out great. I probably wouldn't have gotten the surgery if I hadn't picked that date.
So the holidays are approaching and I am preparing for my surgery...not big deal!!! The Monday after Xmas!@ 9a, I check into the hospital. I was SUPER nervous. The nurse had to give me a shot in my butt to help calm my nerves : )......Great Stuff!!! My surgery was scheduled at 11:30a...I remember going into the OR and that was it : ).
When I got out of recovery they took me to my room and I slept most of the day. The next day they had me up walking. I wasn't in too much pain so I didn't take much pain meds, plus that liquid stuff was EXTRA NASTY!!!
So now I am three weeks post operation and I feel good. I am still not 100% but that's to be expected. I am struggling with getting all my Protein in in a day....I know that will help with my energy....Maybe one day I'll master that. : )
WHEW...for someone that not a blogger sure did talk you ear off : )...
Well until we meet again or until something noteworthy happens
Be Blessed, Healthy and Happy!!
