At 218 pounds I felt like shamoo. However as always I was told by everyone I knew I was beautiful. But you know that is something you have to feel on the inside you can't be told that 1,000 times and then oh it sinks in.
I had a baby at the age of 19 and during the time that I was pregnant I went from 218 to 260 in 9 months. After the baby I just got more depressed and kept eating. I had to make a choice because over the years after the baby my weight gaining just got worse.
My mom use to tell me as a child "If you don't get some kind of self control they're going to have to stapled your stomach if you keep eating like that" well she spoke it into my future.(LOL) I had heard about it but I thought that it was for people who weighed 1,000 lbs. But at the age of 26 after going through failed diet plans, and wasting money on the gym I decided to get something done.
So in January 2006 I started the process to get to know more about the surgery. at that time I was married and my husband told me "I've loved you with 30 bellys I'll love you with 1" Once I knew that I had his support I knew I could do it. So at the age of 27 November 13, 2007 I had the RNY. Since then I've lost 105 lbs. and I'm glad I did it. I got tired of telling my 9 year old "I'm tired", "ok, maybe later" when she asked me to go outside, or take her to the park and I couldn't because I was so fat and tired and lazy. So now I'm on the long road to a healthy life one day at a time.
