My name is Nikki, and I am managing editor of OH Magazine and have been a member of ObesityHelp.com since 2004.

My focus as a member of ObesityHelp is on learning all I can about the essential components of good health so that I can become a healthier individual--inside and out. I have been obese for several years, and though I am a "lightweight" I constantly face the challenges of making choices for better or for worse when it comes to my food and lifestyle. I have decided that surgery is not the right solution for me at my current weight and place in life, so I am still working out my weight issues through traditional diet and exercise. I think the decision to lose weight--and the method of choice--are critical and individual decisions that each of us must make, preferrably with the support and advice of friends, family and medical professional.
My years-long weight struggle provides a perspective on weight and health issues that I think adds to my work with OH Magazine. It helps me be quite passionate about helping people find solutions to the problem I have come to know so well in my own life.
