my journey so far.
Mar 25, 2010
i've wanted this surgery since i was 16 but i'm glad the insurance makes you wait until you're a more appropriate age. i wanted it for all the wrong reasons then but now i just want to be healthy & i don't have impossible goals.
i finished my 6 months of proven weight loss that my insurance requires before i can see the surgeon & i only lost about 20 lbs.
i had my legs x-rayed & found out i have arthritis in both knees.
i had my sleep apnea test & found out i have mild sleep apnea that can most likely be cured with weight loss.
i went to the gastric bypass seminar & finally got to meet with my doctor who seemed hopeful of me being able to get the surgery.
i just had my upper gi x-ray & everything looks good. except for the fact that they made me drink something that greatly resembled elmer's glue! haha.
& i had the gallbladder ultrasound & havn't gotten the results back from that yet.
i have me psych evaluation on april 7th.
& i have my pre-op class on april 27th.
if all goes well hopefully they can give me a date by the end of april. my fingers are crossed & i cannot wait to begin my new journey!
