Hello OH Family. Where to begin. I suppose my entire life has been leading me to this point; to finally be encouraged to take the necessary step in being successful in reaching my weight loss goals. I've always felt like a failure in this area, and I am facing this truth with courage and with faith that I will finally be a success story. My weight loss efforts are too numerous to convey, but I will admit the most aggressive action I took was having Lap Band surgery in 2006. This was a complete failure that left me ashamed and broken. Of course, I kept a smile on my face and pushed these feelings down and kept on moving until my doctor gave me the most eye-opening information after performing surgery in Dec 2011 - My band was not connected!! I was happy to know that all of those wasted fills that never worked, all of the diets that always left me heavier finally had an explanation. Whew!
Fast forward to June 2013 - I had my Lap band removed. HALLELUJAH! I am feel lighter. It's hard to explain, but I really feel better. Other than healing from the open wound the port has left - I do feel better! Jesus is good all the time.
I am now in the process of scheduling my RNY for later this year. Hopefully in 3 months. I will be sure to update my new OH family.
Thank you for any prayers and suggestions!
