from 345 to 175 to 250 to 230, researching revisions

Oct 24, 2012

My primary care Dr does call me a "success". Naturally, I dont really feel that way and am terrified at the thought of returning to my original weight... on the same note, I am VERY pleased with myself for losing the most recent 20lbs.

I am 51 years old, surgery was 11.5 yrs ago, in the original 18 months I lost 175lbs, but now am back to being a Human Yo-Yo. My meals are still small, but not as small as they were 11 years ago. I am obsessed with taking ALL my supplements daily, BUT even so, at 5yrs out, I became VERY anemic. I am slacking majorly on the exercise section :(, need to get this butt back in gear and I will try going back to the "liquid phase" per recommendations here :)

It is dissapointing to read that the "Rose Method" is not successful, But, I'd rather find out now than afterward, so thanks so much for that information! Now I'll be researching the DS as a revision.

My only negatives to the RNY is Approximately every 6-8 months I MUST get IV Iron to combat the Anemia and I did get some pretty severe tooth decay from the "dry mouth" even though I sipped water constantly and have always brushed my teeth 2x daily and flossed 1x daily. My personal recommendation on saving the teeth is possibly sugar free gum on top of diligent brushing/flossing.
