I enbarked on my journey at 274 lbs. I have diabetes, high blood pressure, high triglycerides, high cholesterol and my life consisted of one weight loss program after another. I lost weight on all of them but to only put it right back on and more each time. My doctor keep increasing my medicines and thoase also added the weight.
After having a few friends who had WLS, I finally got up the courage to ask my doctor for a referral. I had to attend 6 months of classes at my medical group and at first I thought "what a waste of time", but in those 6 months I learned alot that has helped me though this journey.
My surgery was February 22, 2007. That was the day I was reborned.
Of everyday is a struggle but with confidence and the support of great friends. I have stuck to it and will continue till I reach my goal.
It is now July 28, 2007..and I am dowm 79 lbs and feeling great. I am now able to tolerate the gym and actually look forward to going. I am only on medication for my blood pressure at this time (except for the required supplements we have to take for the rest of our lives).
I am feeling great and I am glad to share that with everyone her on obesityhelp.com.
