Well I'm still in shock as to how little pain i have and that i'm actually banded...I keep joking with my hubby after drinking a little broth or jello that i can't believe that i'm actually full...Today i started full liquids so i'm back to my shakes for protein, I'm also able to have cream soups so that will be nice...

well i'm home and feeling much better then i had expected...According to my surgeon told my DH it was a picture perfect surgery...In and out in 30 minutes....I woke up asking fo my hubby and the chapstick that was in his pocket...they nurse went out to the waiting room to get him and let him know that he better have the chapstick...I did have a bit of nausea when i woke up so they gave some IV meds to help with made me pretty groggy...at 1:00 and was walking drank my fluid under x-ray then it was on my way home...slept most of the drive home until my DH got me up to walk for a few minutes...up to this time i was really only have pain from my gas...Don't have any port or incision pain as i was expecting...I did take some of my liquid pain meds when i got home and slept some more...I'm expecting the pain to come but as of now i feel 85%...Thanks for all your prayers and keeping my spot on the losers bench...

Well I called and took care of my co-payment and made sure I have everything that I need.  I also got a schedule time for surgery I check in at 7am with surgery at 8am.  I'm the 2nd surgery of the day so they shouldn't be late.  I figured that if I was first I would have less chance of having to say overnight.  

Day 2 of my shakes and I don't feel like chewing my own had off yet.  I know when I get home I will be so ready to eat though.  I'm dreading this weekend because the husband and kids will be eating regular food while I get to drink a nasty shake. Oh well it will pay off in the end, I just have to get through the next 6-8 weeks of restricted diet.

 

 

Well i just got of the phone with my weight lost clinic and I have a date...So on April 17th I will join the rest of you on the losers bench :-)

on the sad note...only two days left until i start my liquid diet....

I just got off the phone with the insurance company expecting to hear "your denied" but actually hear that I was approved....I want to run up and down the hallway yelling....I will have to wait until i get into my car and then it's all good...It hasn't even sunk in yet...I have already left a message for my coordinator so I can get a date set...

Well I called the Insurance company yesterday and the lady I talked to said to try again next week they should have a answer by then.  She said that it took her a week to get approved for the sleeve.  I keep hoping that i will get approved but in my head i know i'm going to have to appeal.  I will be in Kansas City next week for work so will have to try to get away from the group and make the phone call some time 

Well it's been a crazy week for me.  I went for my psyc evaluation, classes and meet with the clinic coordinator on Monday and found out that we will have to fight the insurance company because I haven’t had a high enough weight long enough.  We are using the defense of fix it now before the medical issues get worse. Over the past year my blood pressure has gone up and well as my blood sugar.  I went in yesterday and had x-rays on my knees and there is already degeneration (I don't know if that a good thing or bad at this point).  I have been trying to eat healthy so that when get approved for surgery (not IF) it won't be such a big shock for me to adjust my eating.  I keep telling my self that I shouldn't do this because it's not going to help me with my approval.  So keep your fingers crossed and pray that the insurance decides it's better to do the surgery now then to wait for more complication later.

Well I met with my surgon yesterday and he said that I would be a good canidate for the band...YIPPY...I am scheduled to do in for an all day appointment on March 3rd for testing, classes and my psyc eval...then it's up to the insurance (crossing my fingures) and I could be banded by the end of next month if everything goes well...
