1st weigh in with dietician..
May 04, 2009
I just met with the dietician this morning, for my 1st weight in and diet appointment. I weighed in at 261 pounds..This is my LARGEST weight so far!! :(
It looks like it went rather well. The dietician wants me to count carbs at this time. I need to try to get some healthy/low carb snacks (I know some fruits, yogurts, and cheese seem to be low) and lean meats and fresh vegetables. RAY is trying to figure out what we need to buy, that is LOW CARBS and also, that we can afford-Due to limited money for food.. :( **Please pray about this.. I am going to look in my claorie/carb book to see what things are low..Each meal needs to be between 45-60 carbs and each snack 10-15, because I am a diabetic. Please pray that we can get the necessary items..that will be healthy and low carb for me.
Things look good for the surgery..IF I can keep my carbs down, sugar down, and lose a few pounds (DEFINITELY NOT GAIN WEIGHT!!) then, the dieticican said I should be approved for surgery with no problems. She feels that I should get it, as long as my "other" tests down the road come out good. I have 3 more visits with the dietician BEFORE I can meet the surgeon! That will be in AUGUST (after 4th visit with dietician).
She is being very helpful about my diet, and helping me get all the necessary medical history together, to hopefully avoid any "road-blocks" to stop the process for surgery. I just wanted to let you know whats happening..and how the vist came out! Thank You so much, for your understanding and prayers. I will be in touch as i know more. Next visit to dietician is June 3rd at 9:00am..
6 Month Diet
Mar 25, 2009
My Endocronologist gave me a referral to a Bariactric surgeon. I got the packet and filled out the information. It has been mailed back to them.
I can NOT meet the surgeon until I have been on the 6month supervised diet, for 4months..after the 4th month visit I can then schedule to meet the surgeon and then begin the other tests that are required for approval.
To begin the diet, I meet with the dietician April 27, to see what the required diet is..this then begins the 6month process. Seems like a long time to go through before getting approval.
