I went for my follow-up appointment with my surgeon yesterday. I wasn't really sure what that all consisted of but it definitely ended up being the unexpected.

Just recently I started getting discouraged, wishing I would have taken advantage of the RNY. The weight stopped coming off and I was hungry. I talked to my best friend who had Lap Band in April and she talked me through it. She said that I would have to wait 5-6 weeks to get a fill though. Well its only been 3 weeks since my surgery. I really didn't know what to do. I was unsure how I would get through 2-3 more weeks of this. I didn't have anymore restriction without my band being filled because my stomach wasn't swollen anymore and I had lost weight so it loosened up (I guess). All I knew is I was hungry and wanted to eat. So for the most part I just made sure I made very good choices about what I ate. I didn't gain any weight but I didn't lose any either. 

When I went to see my surgeon I was anxious. He came in looked at my incision, we talked and he said I was doing great. Next thing I know the nurse came in setting up some needles and some other stuff. I was a little confused and giddy at the same time. I was getting a FILL!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. He said that I healed so well that he didn't see a problem with filling my band. I didn't even have to beg for one. LOL! That mess was a little uncomfortable, I must admit. I'm not scared of needles at all but DAMN! It took him a minute to find the right angle so he could find the port but once he found it, it was like sex (A RELIEF) LOL! I got 2cc's in a 4cc band. My next fill won't be until March or whenever I feel that I need one.

Hey OH here I am1 week out and I'm feeling really good. I can't wait until I can start working out. I said I'll start on Jan 1st. I've been losing weight pretty rapidly. I know I haven't really been eating anything but gosh. I was weighed some time in November and my weight had plummeted to 265 pounds. I went for pre-op testing on December 5th and I had lost 10 pounds. 2 days after surgery I weighed my self and I had lost 5 pounds (leaving the scale at 250 even). I got on the scale just a minute ago and I weighed in at 246.7. I don't see it but I can't wait til I start. This is like a freakin dream come true. I think I'm going to get a scale that isn't digital because that scale just might be playing tricks on me. But we shall see. Toodles!

Hey OH! Here I am 1 day post-op and to be honest I really don't have anything bad to say. My stomach is sore but they gave me the best drugs in AMERICA! GO Roxicet!!! But the surgery went great! I know you guys want details but I don't really have any. I was sleep the whole timeLOL! All I can say is it's worth any soreness in the world. I'm not really sure what to say so please ask all the questions you want and I'll make sure I answer them to the best of my ability. But anywhoo, thanks for all the support and love. You guys are great. I'll be waiting on your questions. Toodles.

Well tomorrow is the 1st day of my new life. My surgery is scheduled for 10 or 11 and I have to be there at 9. Waiting that long will probably freak me out. But nevertheless, I am EXCITED! I drank my liquid laxitive, I don't think you guys want any details but OMG! I guess I didn't realize how much has been built up over the YEARS! I'm almost scared to sneeze. LMAO!

I'm as prepared as I can be. I've gotten all of my "Food" from the store and I'm ready to go. I can't really express how I am feeling right now. There are so many feelings wrapped up in one. I guess I need to shower and get to bed because I have a HUGE day ahead of me! Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers. Toodles

I went for "pre-admit" testing today. They weighed me and I lost 10 lbs!!!! Yaaaaayyyyy!!! They also took another EKG because they said they saw some abnormalities. This is the 3rd one I've had and they said it was the 2nd one that was abnormal. But of course my blessings always fall into place and everything was fine. Not to mention my anxiety is trying to kick in because my blood pressure was a little high for the 1st time in my life! EVER! But I'm keepin it cool. I just can't wait til Monday. I'm going to the grocery store later to get all of my yummy clear liquids and sugar free jell-o LOL! 

I'll add to this post a lil later. But before I go I wanted to say THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU GUYS WHO HAVE SENT ME MESSAGES AND GAVE ME ALL OF YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT. I DO APOLOGIZE IF I HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO SOME OF YOUR MAIL BUT PLEASE KNOW THAT IT'S NOT INTENTIONAL. I'VE HAD A LOT GOING ON LATELY AND I'M A LITTLE OVERWHELMED. So I went to see the surgeon on the 25th and he gave me all of the test results. Everything looked GREAT! His assistant came into the office and said my surgeon was booked up and can't get me in til January. I burst into tears. My insurance is changing in January and I would have to start the process ALL over again . So I guess he felt sorry for me and opened up a spot on December 11th!!!!!! 2 days ago his assistant called me and said they had a cancellation so.....needless to say I'm having my surgery on December 8th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God is sooooo good. Back off DEVIL YOU ARE A LIAR!

Hello Friends! Okay so Monday I had my blood work and EKG done and today I had the Endoscopy. That was the best sleep EVER! Dr. Davis (a gastric surgeon at Emory University) said my stomach looked great and my bacteria test was negative. So I don't have to take any antibiotic that will slow up this process. I meet with my surgeon to get all of my test results, get any questions answered and my date for surgery on the 25th. I am so excited!
This past weekend I said I was going to eat what I want because I knew I would need to start my pre-op diet to shrink my liver soon. Tell me why I ended up with FOOD POISON! NO MORE MCDONALD'S OR ZAXBY'S FOR ME! E-V-E-R!!!! I puked my brains out for two days and lived off Vernors Ginger Ale, water and pedialite freeze pops for the entire weekend.

The insurance company approved my surgery on Monday and I have pre-op testing on the 17th and I should have my date by the 20th. Not only that....MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK AND I GOT A PROMOTION AT WORK!!! GOOD NEWS IN 3'S. MORE TO COME GOTTA GO MWAH!!

So last week I went to my PCP to have my physical done. He called me back the next morning and stated that I am in GREAT health but he will still write the clearance letter because I'm getting older and trying to prevent obesity related health issues. He wrote my letter on Friday and by Monday all the paperwork was sent off to the insurance company.

I talked to the pre-certification manager with the insurance company and she said once she receives the paperwork she will review it and a decision will be made within 7-15 days not 30.

I am soooooo EXCITED! I've waited so long for this and its finally here. I've already put my vacation time in for December and January and I'm taking 2 months off. When I come back to work, I can't wait to hear what they have to say. They think I'm a mess already. LOL! I'm going to take those 2 months off and work so damn hard it's not even funny
