Total wow moment
Feb 08, 2009
So I haven't been here for a while oh well. I am doing wonderful. I did reach my goal by christman. I however did not make my birthday goal. I think my weight loss has slowed down a bit. I feel so much better. I was at the laundry mat a week ago and caught a glimps of myself in the mirror. I was wearing of course the only jeans that I have sz 24 with a belt, and a sweatshirt. Now I have not bought anything new for myself since way before the surgery. What I saw in this mirror was a clown like person. My jeans were so big that when I pulled them out at the side of the legs they looked like clown pants.
I looked like i was wearing someone elses clothes and not my own. So I decided that it was time to get some new clothes whether I wanted to or not. So, I went shopping with my daughter over the weekend, she needed some new jeans and such. I checked out the clearance racks because I don't want to have to buy new clothes knowing that I am going to be buying new clothes again in a few months. I was able to get 4 shirts and 1 pair of pants for $37
. I was very proud of myself. When I got home I put on my new size 18 jeans and 1x shirt and had my daughter take a new picture of me. That I will be downloading to my profile later this week. I put the pic on my facebook page and a couple of my friends saw it and commented. Which made me feel good. A lot of people don't know that I had surgery and I have not seen them in 4 + months so it is fun now to see people.
All in all I would have to say that I had a very good weekend with my daughter and feel great about myself.
WOW
Goal #1 almost met
Dec 08, 2008

The good thing was that I did not gain any.
But as I was sitting here checking out the msg boards I decided that even though it was not Wed ( my usual weigh in day) I was going to weigh in any way, I spontaneously remembered that I had my period and duh now that it was done I should have lost weight.Catch this I stepped on the scale last week and I was 262lbs and today when I stepped on the scale I was 257 lbs.
Which means that since surgery in Oct I have lost 37 lbs, and since I started my journey I have lost 57 lbs
yeah me
go me
I have only 7 more lbs to loose before my christmas deadline.
WOOT!!!!

1 mo post op today. I saw Dr Leslie and he said I was right on track and all looked great. The dietician said I could advance my diet to regular food as soon as I felt comfortable. Slowly of course to make sure things agree with the pouchy. My weight was ...... drum roll..... 264lb and my waist is 119cm.. EXCITING.... I started my B12 shots today and was told to change my calcium pill from Caltrate +D to Citrical + D for better absorption due to the acid not being in as plentiful in my pouch anymore. So when I go shopping I will work on finding that. HOT DOG I feel good. I also had my last visit with the therapist today. I am hoping that I will not find the need to go back to see him again with the help of the OH boards and coffees that I am going to try to get to as soon as my weekend classes are done.
Look at me go!!!
Goal not met

3 weeks post op
Nov 03, 2008
I am 3 weeks post op today and I have lost 19 lbs since surgery. Not as much as I thought but still more than I had before. I now weigh 275lbs. I have not seen this weight since my first marriage. I feel wonderful about that fact. I am still on pureed food and not loving that at all. I can't change my diet until I see my surgeon on the 19th of Nov. So I am stuck with boring.
So here I am

My name is Tammy and I am from MN. I found this website from my surgeons office and so far I like it. Just a little bit about myself. I am 35. I started out 6 months ago at 309lb. I worked all summer to complete all of the "requirments" for the insurance company. My surgeon gave me a goal weight to acheive during this time and it took me literally the entire 6 mo to make the weight. I had to be at 294lb by the day of surgery and I did make it by 4 days before. So here we are 6 days post op and feeling good.
